I can only imagine that the taste is equal to industrial strength drano. I'm very sensitive to tastes which is one of the reasons I like Delsym Orange flavored cough syrup. It has a slight medicinal flavor, but mostly tastes like Orange syrup, as advertised. I defy anyone to say that this version tastes anything like cherries! It is horrible!! My mouth and esophagus felt a very unwelcome medium burning for almost an hour after I swallowed it. No amount of cold water or milk could soothe it.I must say that I was highly impressed that Amazon accepted the Delsym max Strength Cough and Chest Congestion. I filled out the very brief form on Wednesday, UPS arrived early afternoon Thursday to pick up the package, and by early evening I had my money refunded! I'm somewhat handicapped, I was with a came but have very limited time that I can stand an wall before pain or fatigue causes me to need to sit. I also don't drive anymore due to all the medications I take and the high doses. So programs like Prime are such a blessing. The fast delivery and pick ups just mean the world to me!

This is just what I ordered. It works well, I ordered Cherry and it was't what I was hoping it would be. I like the orange better. I thought this might be similar to something I had years ago, but will go back to orange.

I have tried them all, but this stuff (in its present recipe) works. It may be expensive (aren't they all?) but it works—FOR ME. Cannot say much more than that.

Convenience of home delivery. Need it among four of us.
