Great book to learn assembly language. Written very well. Have to have a lot of focus cuz it is really dense

Bought this for a summer class that I took. Honestly, how in the hell are you supposed to understand sh*t in this book? I will add that the author mentions that new readers need to read the Appendix/s before reading the actual chapters. I didn't manage to get to them but I still made a high B in the class (Should've been an A (I swear I made like an 89)). I'm not sure what I need to rate this. The instructor gave us take home tests likely because this is a graduate level course listed in an undergraduate section. He didn't mention this but I'm sure that's why he did it. I spoke to a classmate and he admitted not knowing half the material the book covers. Only through strenuous research, I made a near-A :(

The binding of this book is HORRIBLE. I already accidentally ripped a few page partially off the binding. And I'm careful with my books. but this is absolutely ridiculous. Trying to turn a page -and ripppp.edit: about a total of 7 pages half ripped -___-

i gave it 5 starts cause its a good book..... if its not required don't buy it because it will give you nightmares

I got this for school. It came exactly as described. I discovered that I hate computer science

Terrible quality control. I paid for a book labeled as condition:used good but recieved one in condition: used acceptable. However, this book is not in an acceptable condition. The damage to it is incredible, the book is close to falling apart completely. The pictures attached do not do the damage justice. I hope this was a mistake on their part, but I cannot use the book outside of my apartment in this condition. I would avoid this seller at all costs since they will likely not send you the correct version and their version of acceptable is abhorrent to say the least. Although in terms of content, Patterson and Hennessy seem to have done a decent job at things. I will try to return and try to get a book in the condition that I paid for.
