Overall it does protect your knives, however the pin is too large and doesn’t fit in the saya to keep it secure.

This thing doesn't fit the Misono UX-10 8.2 even though Amazon has it paired with it. It's also twice the size of a normal gyuto sheath. Honestly, I'm not sure what you would use this for.
