Great but heads up!
Fit and works prefect on my 99 F-150. Took about 45 minutes to install but would have only taken 15 of someone would have told me to take the taillight out and spray WD-40 on the bolt that holds the cable. It was pretty rusty but once I sprayed it it screwed right out. Great product and hopefully it will last many years.

Easy add for no more tailgate banging down
Works really well, seems of good quality. Easy 5 minute installation. Smooth and quiet coming down.

I'd you have the tailgate tied own point, you will have to remove it.
This was a great choice. I can't think of any other purchase for a vehicle for under twenty dollars that was a true improvement. This was easy to install in about 8-10 minutes. The only small issue was that I had to remove the tailgate cargo strap hook on the side where the strut was installed. The strut works better than I had hoped. I pop the latch, and the tailgate gently tilts open - silently. There is no longer the jarred bang when the gate hits bottom. I wish I had bought one sooner.

Fits and works great, really need longer Torx wrenches
The mounting plates fit perfectly and installation straightforward. I encountered two issues:1. I was unable to remove the T50 and T30 Torx bolts without using a bit and large rachet (which luckily i already own), you need more leverage than the provided wrench enables2. Once the bottle opener was removed i faced the choice of re-inserting the bolts to fill the holes or buy two plugs. I opted to buy plugs (picture attached)once installed the tail gate opens so much better without worrying about it dropping.

Don't know why I waited
Arrived on time, packaging shows that common sense is still alive. Came with decent instructions, but claimed to provide a tool for the tailgate liner.. Not there. Cylinder so far is sealed tight, functions just like OEM. Positive first impression, let's see how it indures.

Easy installation, does hold the tail gate back a bit but not much , would probably install another one if I could , good quality parts , for 1999 ford 7.3 f350Update - crush bolt came loose after 2 days not sure if it was my fault
