Works as a lanyard
I use a #18 braided twine for attaching a lanyard from my man-overboard transmitter to its pouch. As the previous supplier no longer made a twine that wouldn't unravel when cut, I needed to search for an alternative. This product allows me to cut into 3' lengths and the cut is nice and sharp so I can put it into a crimp and attach the MOB transmitter to its pouch. Also, the product takes much abuse from the elements, so I am hopeful the tarred bank line holds up to moisture, humidity, salt water, etc.
