Good quality, achieved a dark black when used over henna.
Dark and works great! I received a fresh batch -- the powder is finely milled, the dye release is fast and using it on my greying black hair with henna in a 2-step method gave a deep soft black. Just plain henna alone gives me a very bright orange on my grays that isn't flattering, so I prefer to overdye with indigo for a more natural look. I used very warm water and added sea salt to the mixture. A little went a long way. Be sure to wear gloves when dyeing and rinsing out, it will stain your hands and nails -- and your sink if you don't clean up promptly. The price is great too, comparable to the powdered indigo I would buy in Asia.

My favorite henna
Such a high quality henna! I’ve been using henna since the 1980’s and have tried many different brands. This one is very fresh and high quality. It is very responsive to whatever tweaks you want to use to modify the color ( ACV, fruit juices, coffee, etc etc) you can play with the heat or the curing/ dye-release time to get just the shade you’re looking for. I keep the powder sealed in an airtight container and it stays fresh for years. It thickens and strengthens my hair as well.

Good product
It is very clean and hygienic. I feel that my skin and hair are getting healthier. I don't see any side effects, and I recommend it.

As advertised
So, I'm not really 100% sure what rating to give this. The product was just as described and it arrived quickly. The quality seemed high, though I have nothing to compare it to. I used it on hair that was 80% uncolored with old colored ends with the same results throughout. I noticed increased shine and softness afterwards, and its possible it increased my curls, but hard really to tell. I enjoyed the earthy, straw smell though found it hard to remove from my hair mostly because I have so much of it. After a shampoo and conditioner treatment where I combed the conditioner through in the shower, my hair was clean and with a hint of the earthy straw smell of the product which I enjoy. So for all the main reasons many people use this product, I found it as advertised and would give it 4-5 stars. The purpose for which I bought it however, to turn grey hair blond, was a disappointment. I have only done one treatment, and had to use most of the package for my waist length hair. When I was finished, it maybe turned some of the hairs a tint of yellow. Now to be fair, what I learned is that it gets a stronger yellow with each treatment. The videos I have found online for blonds covering grey are very good. I should also mention I am a brunette who just wanted to see if it would make the grey more like blond highlights. I was disappointed. For grey coverage, I'd give it a 2-3 stars with the caveat that its supposed to get better with more applications. I myself am instead going to try using henna next time, though I may mix in some of this with it just for the above treatment effects.

Poor Quality Henna
I'm unsure if the batch of henna that they sent to me is old or if it's just a poor quality one, but this did NOT work on my 3c/4a hair. I've used a lot of color henna on my virgin/natural hair in the past-- including the one from Henna Guys-- but decided to give HNC a try. THERE'S 0 COLOUR PAYOFF with this brand. I mixed my henna with water and a splash of apple cider vinegar, and allowed it to sit out for 6 hours. I washed my hair prior with a clarifying shampoo-- no conditioner-- and proceeded to apply. I put my hair under a plastic shower cap and allowed the messy mixture to sit on my head for 24 hours. I did not shampoo or condition after rinsing the henna out. Still, my hair looks exactly the same as it did prior. I really wish I didn't purchase this and instead stuck with the Henna Guys. My hair always turns a beautiful reddish-brown whenever I use other brands. Wont be purchasing the HNC brand again.

Best way to color your hair naturally without using any Chemicals!!
I have been using this Henna brand for more than 3 years now to color my grey hair and really like the quality of this product. My natural hair color is dark brown. Grey hair are thick and silver white.I soak it with 1 tspn of Amla (Indian gooseberry), Shikakai (Acacia concinna) and Ritha (Indian Soapberry/Sapindus mukorossi) powder each.Amla and Shikakai strengthen my hair roots as well as darken the henna color (from orange to auburn color shade). Soapberry works as an organic shampoo and helps in easy hair wash.Boil 1tsp each of all powders in a pan for 10 minutes. Let it cool; transfer it to a big bowl (ceramic or iron) and then add henna powder (quantity based on your hair length). Soak overnight or at least 3-4 hours. To avoid any stains / mess, take out bathroom mats and cover the surface with newspaper/ sheets. Wear gloves not to stain your hand and nails with henna.Part your hair and start from the crown. Take small section of hair – apply henna – then roll it and make a bun covering it with henna. Keep taking small sections of hair and roll around the bun with henna. It takes 15-20 minutes depending upon your hair length to completely cover your hair with a henna into a BIG bun. Cover with a shower cap so your henna remain moist and leaves a darker color. If you need orange color, wash after 2 hours. If you need darker tint, wash after 5 hours. Don’t shampoo. Apply coconut / any hair oil after the hair wash that will soften up your hair as henna makes some people’s hair dry. After 24 hours, wash and condition your hair, you’ll find naturally colored, shiny and smooth hair without affecting your health and environment.PS- If you’ve silver white hair, they will turn orange in first application and start turning darker with 2nd and further applications.

Did not work well for me
It didn't stain well on my henna fresh applied hair. I don't know if it was user error or not but I went back to Bigen.
