Amazing little kit, easy to install, working on incl batteries for months
I purchased this for a guest room toilet to remove the need for anyone to touch it to flush. Im a bit OCD with hygiene and with keeping the nice ToTo chrome toilet handle spotless and free of fingerprints. The product arrived quickly and packaged nicely to ensure safe transport. Installation was simple and made even easier by the included QR code that directs you to watch a short youtube install video. I slowed the video down to the slowest speed in order to keep up. Installation took me less than 5 minutes, no exaggeration. As others have mentioned it would be more ideal if the flush length could be extended to 7+ second, ideally up to a maximum of 10 seconds would be ideal. This means that when this device flushes, it can hold the flush valve open for a maximum of 7 seconds. There is a very small phillips screw that sets the length of time to keep the valve open. On my unit, the adjustment screw was covered in glue, a flick with a metal nail file was all that was needed to remove the glue but it should not have been covered. I had to locate a small enough phillips (ideally an electronics repair kit or eyeglass repair kit) that would fit in the tiny adjustment screw. It would be courteous for the manufacturer to have provided one but some people may not need to adjust the flush length at all. Default flush hold is 4-5 seconds long. I increased my unit to the maximum of 7 seconds which is sufficient to flush the toilet properly but ideally 9 seconds would have been better. From the description I was hoping that this unit could flush the toilet automatically when a guest moved away from the toilet or within some time set intervals, just to insure that the toilet is flushed on its own, with or without any usage. This unit does not do that. This unit solely provides a non-touch flush by motion sensor, you must wave your hand over the top of the toilet lid to activate the flush. The product comes with a chrome hand-wave sticker that you can place on top of your toilet to inform guests that they can just wave their hand over the toilet to flush it. The pickup sensitivity on the motion sensor has an adjustment screw, identical to the adjustment screw for the flush length, and is located right next to the flush length adjustment. I did not need to adjust the flush motion sensitivity. I have been using the unit for several months now and it has worked 100% of the time, still operating on the included 4 batteries. The unit makes no noise when activating a flush, if it does make a noise it is inaudible due to the flushing of the toilet. I would definitely recommend this to others.

Installed easily and works well.
I’ve regretted my touchless flush toilet since I had it installed in 2013. Within the first year the flush kit had to be replaced by the manufacturer (not Techno). I have had nothing but problems year after year. I finally decided (now 2025) I had to do something so I didn’t need to route my guests to another bathroom for the times when the flusher wasn’t working. I found the original Kohler part had been discontinued. I was able to find sellers who had it but for as much as $300. I read all the Amazon reviews for this Techno brand and was surprised that some reviewers found it worked better than the original so I bought it. I’m a 69 year old woman and know nothing about toilets except to call a plumber, until now. It comes with instructions but the manufacturer had an installation video on YouTube. Following that, I installed it myself and now I could do it with my eyes closed. No plumber necesssary! A big money savings. And I have to agree, so far it does work better than the original brand part.

Need screwdriver for battery compartment, and jeweler's screwdriver to adjust sensitivity
1) You need a small Phillips-head screwdriver to open the battery compartment. 2) You need a tiny jeweler's screwdriver to adjust the sensitivity. One reason I say "need" is that the factory setting was insanely oversensitive. We needed to adjust ours and I think you will too, so have the screwdriver ready before you start installation. It's a "trimpot" on the circuit board; an eyeglass screwdriver, or, with care, the point of a penknife would work. The instruction boolket is clear but don't mention that the setting is factory-sealed. It's covered with a waxy material, but it is easy to scrape off. The control is clearly labeled on the circuit board itself, with arrows showing increase/decrease directions. 3) The Techo is a different design, but has such a similar "style" that I have to wonder if they were OEM-ing the Kohler device all along. As a "replacement for the Kohler original" it seems fine and I know of no reason to suspect the Techo is any better or worse than the Kohler original. The home we bought had a toilet with the Kohler "touchless" mechanism installed. It quit working (just dropped dead, fresh batteries did nothing) and that's the last straw. There's a new toilet in our future. We bought the Techo as a stopgap so we can replace the toilet in good time on our own schedule. Since we hated the Kohler we hate the Techo, too--the whole thing seems silly--but it seems like an honest replacement. 4) Since Kohler's website offers a Kohler-branded replacment for $300 for a replacement, I guess I have to call this good value for the money. 5) Unlike the Kohler original, this one doesn't beep when you activate it. 6) As a replacement for the original, it was fine, mounting in the same place. I was able to just put the Techo in and clip the existing chain onto the wheel. I didn't install the new chain and I didn't make adjustments to the old chain. The operating wheel is slightly larger so it drops the chain lower and pulls it higher, but it has been working fine without any tinkering or adjusting. 7) As you can see, the battery compartment is outside the main mechanism. The trickiest part was plugging in the cable--because the rubber housing had turned oval in a weird way and I couldn't figure out how to mate plug and socket until my wife had the courage to use a bit more force than I had done. The housing is stretchy and obviously designed to make a water-resistant seal over the connection. 8) The "troubleshooting" section mentions the possibility that the wall clearance is too tight for the bracket, which may need to be bent. Yes, it was too tight and we did to bend it--not very easy to do. 9) Replacing batteries is going to be a nuisance. The case is sealed with a Phillips-head screw, and has a rubber seal between lid and main compartment and a tiny (and easily lost) rubber washer under the screw. I plan to keep a Phillips screwdriver, a jeweler's screwdriver, and four AA batteries in the bathroom. 10) The unit comes with four AA batteries. They are oddly unmarked. I think they are just ordinary alkaline batteries. They are not rechargeable. The instruction say "do not use lithium-ion batteries" out of fear of a lithium fire if the lithium gets wet, which is a shame since this would otherwise be a good place to use long-life disposable lithium batteries.

My wife and I went for a vacation in Hong Kong. For the first time in all our travels, we discovered the toilet in our hotel room had touchless automatic flushing. After doing your business, you just waved your hand above a sensor on the toilet tank and the toilet flushed automatically. When we got back home, my wife was determined to find this toilet upgrade, which is how I came across this product on Amazon. The device is not a complicated contraption. It is basically a motor controlled by electronics to turn half a circle to lift up the flap in the toilet tank, and then reverse itself after a set time to close the flap. The motor is activated by a microwave sensor built in the device. The device seems to be well made. The motor and electronics are enclosed in a plastic box with rubber gasket to keep it water-resistant. It is powered by 4 AA batteries. The batteries are installed in a separate housing that is also sealed with gasket. The two units are connected by a water-resistant coupler. The manufacturer claimed that the battery will last at least 6 months in an average household. Installation is relatively simple. The combination unit is hung on the wall of the water tank with a clamp. A little fiddling is required to adjust the length of the chain connecting the motor to the flap so it is just of the right length to allow the motor to fully open the flap. The sensitivity of the microwave sensor and the duration leaving the flap opened is adjustable. I made the mistake initially of adjusting the sensitivity before putting the water tank cover on; boy, the lid reduced the sensitivity tremendously! After re-adjusting the sensitivity, the unit then worked fine. Of note is I installed the unit in parallel to the mechanical flush handle. That means the toilet can still be flushed manually if the unit fails. The unit works like a charm since its installation. We now feel that touching the handle to flush the toilet after doing our business (before washing the hands which most of us do) is gross! End note: after installing this unit, we wanted to install the same in all toilets around the house; that's when I went shopping knowing what to look for. I was able to find identical units with a different brand name from a large budget department chain store as well as from a large electronic chain store for exactly half the price. The product, however, is only available for online shopping.

Phenomenal performance! Works every time, no phantom flushes, batteries are still OK after 10 months, keep your hand 2 inches above, fit perfectly into a Kohler Sansouci toilet. Why couldn't Kohler make one this good? Will buy another for my second touchless. You won't be disappointed! Believe me! Update: original review of May 2025---still flushing perfectly, same batteries in over 13 months! WOW!
