Q: will this help get rid of a very raspy sounding exhaust?

Yes they will. Whether you have duals or single exhaust, this resonator will get rid of the drone or rasp. It works best if you mount it between your motor and your muffler, rather than after your muffler.

Q: do you need to have a muffler also or will this work on its own without one?

You must have a muffler. This only attenuates the resonance and reduces noise level a little.

Q: I have a '95 ram 1500 5.2l v8 with an autosaver88 og1301a047 muffler. will this resonator reduce cab noise and loudness of the exhaust?

Had a straight through muffler on my Ram, it was too loud. Installed this resonator and it was much better. Sounds great and no drone.

Q: I'm thinking about this resonator for my 2008 tahoe with magnaflow muffler 12589, if yes where should I fix it?can I replace it with stock resonator?

That would probably be a pretty good setup. I'd bet the sound would be somewhat aggressive but not overly so. Generally you place the resonator after the muffler.

It worked

I did oem muffler delete on my 2013 xterra, and i intalled this resonator and flow fx muffler. The car doesnt sound anything on idle or cruising , and sounds deep gravel noise when i give gas.

Literally removed the drone while cruising. Gained some low end torque.

Awesome

It is totally worth it quality and now the drone i used to have with my MK7 GTI around 2K RPM 80% gone only down side now the idle sound is very quiet. Overall i recommend it.
