Gearlux Adjustable Keyboard Bench

This bench was very simple to put together. It is comfortable to sit on. It seems sturdy and level. The only issues I have with it are that it sits fairly high. I am 5' 9" (175cm) and I need to have it on its lowest setting to sit comfortably with my knees and hips just slightly oblique of 90 degrees (see pic). The lowest setting puts the top of the seat cushion about 18.5" (47cm) off the ground. The cushion compresses maybe half an inch. The next highest setting raises the seat to about 21" (53cm), which would probably also be fairly comfortable to play from. The other two settings are 22.5" (57cm) and 24" (61cm) which may work for a stage setting if you wanted to be almost standing but more comfortable or for sitting if you are quite a lot taller than me. The lowest setting might be very slightly lower than most wooden piano benches I have used. It does not adjust quite perfectly with the keyboard stand I bought, but I won't fault the bench for that. For the price, I think it works just fine. Finer height adjustment would be nice, but the settings it does have can be changed quickly and easily without tools. It isn't perfect, but it is very budget friendly. Had I paid more, I would have given it three stars, but I think the price of the product should be factored in to the rating in its favor.

100% SATISFIED! I use it for a desk chair for a folding table. Padding is fantastic seat for the big bottom - not a disappointment. Thick without being too firm. Easy to put legs to the bench - follow diagram and NO PROBLEM and quick; no tools needed. Plan to get more to use for community volunteer activities instead of folding chairs. Much better than a folding chair. And WAY more comfortable. Highly, Highly, Highly recommend to anyone looking to finally find a comfortable (easily) portable seat. And there are 4 adjustments on this model to raise and lower height to your comfort level. Quality of what I got is like furniture and not like a cheap do it yourself put together from a superstore. Sturdy to sit on with confidence. Weight more than 250 might be too much for the legs to hold - (changed review from 5 stars to 4 stars for a bend problem).

UPDATE: I really didn't want to ruin my other bench...or end up with useless leftover pieces... so I found a better solution. I just switched the brackets where the legs attach to the seat. Now I can loosen the knob and fold the bench flat. Done deal.I need a taller bench than the standard On-Stage type, as I am not a tall person (ahem)... This is great for the extra height, and the larger seat is nice too. BUT... I agree with the other reviewers about the knock-down problem. It's a real pain to screw around with the bolt and nut and washers and try to line up the holes, etc. on a dark stage. I'm actually going to adapt these legs to my On-Stage seat so that I can have everything attached and just lift the legs into place. I'll end up with a whole bench worth of leftover useless pieces but oh well. I need to be able to load in and out quickly without dropping or losing parts and be comfortable when I play. Whoever designed this is obviously not a gigging musician.

This is a great bench for the price and I am very happy with it. I have a keyboard at our cabin for the kids to practice their piano lessons and needed a bench. The bench was very easy to out together and fairly sturdy. It fits my 2 children ages 7 & 9 comfortably and even me and one of my kids. It definitely is not big enough for 2 adults. The adjustment is nice but slightly cumbersome as you have to completely unscrew the bolt and take off the washer and then adjust legs and feed the bolt back through the holes. However, it's not something we will have to adjust often so it's not a big deal. I am very happy with the comfort of the bench and wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

This is a very solid bench for the money. However, I would not buy this if you're looking for a portable solution. It can store flat, but you need to unscrew the bolt that goes through the middle of the legs to adjust it or store it flat. That wasn't clear to me when I bought it, but it's fine - mine stays in my practice room while a more portable bench stays in my car trunk for gigs.

If this were a keyboard bench that I had to set up and tear down on a regular basis, I would probably give it 2 stars and return it. But this bench is supposed to stay in one location and not be moved. So since it is part of a permanent stage set up, it's actually a plus. No one will want to borrow it because it is a pain to set up! Don't get this for gigging, but for a church or theater, any permanent install, it's great.

this is not the most comfortable seat in the world. it is very annoying to readjust or collapse for transport. my other bench, albeit more comfortable, could be adjusted and collapsed quite easily, but was not as reliably sturdy, so i guess it's a trade off. it is very sturdy and reliable. solid starter bench, especially if you dont have to move it around a lot or adjust it often.

Wide, sturdy, adjustable seat. Easy to put together but a bit of a hassle to adjust and fold up...requires the removal of a bolt with washers. I would not recommend this for a working musician who sets up and loads out frequently.

I ordered a different bench first but was very disappointed with the quality of that one. Despite the fact that it felt very flimsy, it wasn't even made stable and would tilt while sitting on it. So I returned that one and decided to give this one a try, and I'm glad I did! This bench is stable, very well padded and also has a wider sitting area comparing to most others. It feels comfortable and looks good with my zither instrument. I didn't expect $15 would make such a difference in quality!

Great quality, it's too high for my son but I guess he just needs to grow a little more :)
