No More Left-Opened Garage Doors; & Great for Package Security - ALL FLAWLESS
I bought this because my sister accidentally left her garage door opened overnight; and being unaware of this the contents therein were burglarized. That's when I bought might. I also received a good amount of deliveries and I liked how I'd be able to remotely open my garage door to give others access. The setup of the unit really was a breeze, largely because it required an Ethernet (as opposed to a WiFi) connection to your network. However, I admit that setup was slightly confusing with two separate installation documents provided. Wisely I think, I watched two YouTube videos that ironed out the installation sequence "hands-on." I have a new 3-module (TP-Link) mesh whole home network system, and like at least one other here, was concerned because the two Ethernet ports on the module connected to my ISP's modem were obviously being used (1 IN from the modem, 1 OUT to an 8-port Ethernet switch), and the instructions state to connect this product to the router. HOWEVER, I found that the two Ethernet ports on one of my other two remaining modules worked perfectly, and simply used one of those. I received the solid green light (confirming connection) immediately. PERFECT! Registering the unit on the web was easy, and even going to my garage to press the "LEARN" buttons separately on each of my two garage door openers (I have two, one for the left and right, resp., outwardly-open garage doors) took ONLY the requisite two (on each) presses (they were the wall units; if you go to the motor unit on your ceiling it is a single press). I then downloaded the app and very intuitively and within seconds set up an alert that should either of my doors be open for more than 10 minutes, I'd get both a push and email notification. That's exactly what I wanted. Lastly, I very much like the idea that should I get a mid-day delivery that includes my being in contact with the deliverer, OR, I can contact a neighbor, I can now open either my L or R garage doors and have them place the package or large box or furniture inside my garage. Of course it's a big help that I have a security cam on the garage door. Ultimately, this product and its attendant app does precisely what I wanted and expected it to do. EMBARRASSINGLY, I've actually owned it since mid-July, but just installed it here mid-December. OK, so that's on me and my ubiquitous procrastination. But I truly don't know why I waited so long because after I took 15 minutes to read the documentation and find a couple of online videos, the full process of adding two "devices" (my left and right garage door openers, separately) took all of maybe 10 minutes. And now I have great peace of mind!

Very quick and easy to configure, works excellent
Thanks for all great Amazon reviews. I figured I will give a try too as I forgot to close garage quite few time while going out only to pull my hair if closed the garage or not. It has been somewhat problem esp with HomeLink openers in my cars needs button to be held for few seconds to operate. This also happened few times even at home. No more worries. I was thinking of building my own control circuit along with some other automation( with rapberry Pi and USB controlled relays, limit/reed switches etc.) But I could not pass such a good deal on this. I got this one along with LiftMaster 888LM Security+ 2.0 MyQ wall control panel and Liftmaster 829LM Garage Door Monitor. I do have a LiftMaster 3800 little bit advanced garage door opener. But mine being older model it did not have MyQ control built into it. (Newer replacement versions do have that built-in option). So I had to buy wall control panel along with gateway. All it took is literally 15 minutes to install and configure and I am in business of opening closing from my phone. Now I have piece of mind about garage door and my wife can see the status inside the home upstairs if the garage door is opened or closed at a glance(With garage door monitor). One can use this Internet gateway with MyQ control panel with any garage door opener it seems. But I do miss some features of my previous control panel. It has nice backlit LCD showing temperature of garage, and time, I miss those feature when I work in garage on my car. Instructions suggested that adding two control panels in parallel may overload the circuit. All in all, I would say it a great value as under $50 we can have internet monitored and controlled garage opener. Application button layout, operation model could have been little better, but it is minor gripe. I do recommend this, and anyone do it.

OUTSTANDING!
We had a Lift Master gate opener installed a couple years ago for our cantilever gate. This was the only thing we didn't have on the MyQ app. The instructions were plain and straight forward. The connectivity to our opener was instantaneous as soon as I put it in learn mode. Value for money is worth every penny to be able to control this unit remotely, and very our gate is either open, closed, or we need to open it for someone without giving them a remote. Compatibility with everything we have is perfect! Definitely a recommended item!

MANUFACTURER REFUSES TO DISCLOSE IMPORTANT SECURITY INFORMATION!
Product was easy to set up, and easy to use. Just read the directions. It must be hardwired to the internet, and it connects MyQ devices wirelessly. It requires a MyQ account to use remote monitoring and control on mobile devices via the MyQ mobile app. All that being said, this product has a MAJOR downside - SECURITY, or lack of of it! This device is a WIRELESS GATEWAY which cannot be accessed, managed, nor secured by the user whatsoever. This wireless gateway connects to MyQ devices, but Chamberlain refuses to disclose what type, if any, of wireless security standard is being used. It also connects to the MyQ Service, but Chamberlain refuses to disclose any information on the encryption protocols used to connect to the service. * Is the status of a garage door being open or closed being transmitted in PLAIN TEXT to the MyQ service? No one at Chamberlain could say one way or the other! WHAAAT? Chamberlain only provides scripted answers such as "proprietary information cannot be disclosed." So is Chamberlain developing their own encryption algorithms? If so, SCARY! If not, then why not simply disclose the use of proven encryption methodologies? Or even worse, is encryption even being used? With the rise of hacking of (IOT) Internet Of Things devices, Chamberlain should do everything possible to secure these devices. Not only are these wireless gateways a point of vulnerability on the network, but they are also a point of vulnerability to physical home security. Chamberlain product documentation as well as Chamberlain phone support is of little help. In fact it seems the (CSRs) Customer Service Representatives at Chamberlain purposefully try to avoid answering the question, and even seem to attempt to cloud the issue with meaningless technobabble and unrelated documentation. After several phone calls to technical support and many emails, it is my personal opinion this company is in no way concerned with the security of these devices, nor the security concerns of customers. Chamberlain also makes LiftMaster, Craftsman (rebranded Chamberlain), and Clicker. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT NOR ANY MYQ GATEWAY DEVICE

No door sensors needed and great app control
I'm happy that I finally got this device, and definitely regret having waited so long to do so. No need for sensors on the door to know if the door is open or closed, and the app also shows how long it has been in the open/close state. A nice safety feature is that during the close door function the motor light flashes and beeps a few seconds before the door starts to close and continues until it is closed. It also has notifications and a scheduling feature. I have a Notification setup to notify me with banner on iPhone anytime the garage door opens. I have Schedule that tells it to close the garage door after 10pm. It also has a feature to Share control with someone else that I have not tried. Regarding the setup process, the manual provides a web site to create a login. The website login listed in the instructions is no longer available. I don't see this as a drawback since it has both Google and Apple apps that allow you to create the login and modify anything. It wanted to scan the label on back of controller, which oddly did not have a QR code or barcode. This didn't work for me and I had to input the short SN manually. On first try it failed to find the controller, but 2nd time was successful. The pairing process between the motor and controller was quick. Here's are the details regarding Google and Alexa integration: Unfortunately, the integration portion is full of disappointments and falls into a partially smart device category. Google Assistant integration isn't complete in that it requires you to say "Hey Google, tell/ask MyQ to open/close garage door". I also can't get it to show up in the Google Home app dashboard, even though the home mini responds to commands. Alexa integration can only be partially done using IFTTT and sadly none of the 12 applets proved a way to open the door, so only to close the door. I don't know how this limitation could be any stranger. The only cool part is that you can omit the tell/ask portion of the command and simply say "Alexa close garage door". The positive side of the integrations is that you no longer have to pay a separate $10/yr subscription for each of the Google and Apple integrations. Due to the limitations of integrations I feel the controller is a bit over priced. However, since this is the only non-sensor approach I know of and it didn't break my bank, I'm satisfied overall, since I don't think I'll be using the integrations much, and just happy I finally know what state the door is in and can control when away. BTW, this is my 2nd attempt to post this review. The first attempt included non-marketing links on how to setup the product with IFTTT, Alexa and Google. However, even though every review is individually screened by Amazon, sadly their zero tolerance for external links applied.

Liftmaster gate controller.
This is must if you have a lift master gate opener. Works as a learned push button that is connected to the internet. We can setup a close schedule and open our gate remotely from our phone to let in the bug guy etc. little bit of a challenge to get it all setup but it has worked great for the last two months and my wife likes to be able to check if the gate is closed when she is home alone. Gives a sense of security we didn’t have before.

Can Confirm This Works Fine with Chamberlain MyQ Openers
I just wanted to confirm that this works great with a Chamberlain MyQ ready garage door opener. Not sure what model Chamberlain I own but I bought it from Lowes last year thinking it was going to be ready to go with remote access out of the box. Turns out it was only MyQ 'ready' - has the MyQ symbol on the opener - and didn't include the gateway itself. So I waited until I saw the gateway for a reasonable price and eventually picked up this Liftmaster version after being pretty confident it would work. Set up was easy. Just plug the unit into a wired port on your home internet router or a small switch and so long as your router is set up for DHCP (gives out IP addresses automatically) then it will automatically register and sync up with Liftmaster. After that, just download the Liftmaster MyQ app (free) and set up a free account at the provided Liftmaster website. Once you do that, you just go to the app and setup the new device (opener) which just involved going to the opener and hitting the "Learn" button on it. It tells you on the app when the device has been successfully added. The app itself is a breeze to use. Very intuitive although the first time you use it you may not know that you need to just press on the garage door image to open or close it using the app. Tells you how long it has been open or closed even if you weren't in the app at the time it was last opened or closed. You can easily set up alerts to let you know if someone opens or closes it and the alerts can be filtered down to certain times of day or days of the week. So, for example, when my daughter comes home from school and lets herself in through the garage door I can get an alert that the door was opened. I can set the alert to only be Mon-Fri which is nice and I can toggle the alert on and off as needed without needing to set it all up again every time I want to enable it. Really a great product. I now have this, Honeywell wifi enabled thermostats, and a couple of IP cameras at my house as the beginning of some home automation.
