You also have the in between colors, so as it's fading into the next there are multiple shades of colors

Q: What does it means when it only flashes a Red light?

Check your booklet that comes with it. I think it needs batteries replaced.

Q: Why is the light flickering? I accidentally threw out the manual...does this mean the batteries need to change?

I'm not able to say for sure why the light is flickering, however I noticed the silver piece where the battery connects actually was loose and even fell out. Double check to make sure that that peace is secure and try different batteries.
