The Colorful Adventures of Zoe & Star: An Activity and Coloring Book

This coloring book was purchased for my four year old granddaughter who absolutely LOVED it from the time it was delivered. The activities inside keeps her engaged instead of always wanting to be on "YouTube". It's quality time.

In a world where we have to look so hard to find books/toys/general depictions of our beautiful black daughters, this coloring book gives me life. It features two girls with different hair textures as princesses, mermaids, ballerinas, pop stars, chefs etc... sometimes we don't realize how much young children observe and internalize, because we as adults are so conditioned to accept society the way it is, forgetting that there's a reason we feel the way we do. I LOVE to hear my daughter say "MOMMY LOOK! THAT ONE'S LIKE ME!" as she flips through the pages. We talk so much about loving ourselves and the beauty in being a black woman, but it's hard when that's only reinforced at home.It's awesome to see her internalize something positive about herself for a change.I have to date bought 5 of these books. I also recommend the "Color My Fro" coloring book.

Purchased as a birthday gift for a 6 year old. The mother of the child sent me photos of her daughter coloring and looking to have fun with this culturally creative coloring book. My first purchase seemed so much like a success I purchased another copy as a holiday present for a 7-year old.

My 7 year old daughter loves this! There are activities to get her imagination going (example: "If you had a magic wand, what would you wish for?") There are activities to increase self esteem (example: "Add the vowels to discover the hidden sentence" - and the answer is There is only one me, I will be all that I can be). There are activities where she can draw the hairdo that the character should have. The pictures are beautifully illustrated. My daughter loves seeing pictures of people that look like her. Seeing herself represented in this way is so amazing and powerful. If you have a black child that likes to color, this is a great book. It is worth every penny.

The only reason this gets 4 stars is because I wish the seller/Amazon gave more details on the book. I bought this for a 4 year old and while it's mostly a coloring book, there are pages that are meant for her to respond to questions such as "What is your favorite flavor of ice cream." I wish I knew it was for a little bit of an older audience. I also thought this was going to be a written story/coloring book and that you could color the story pages but it's mostly just coloring pages with a few headings like "We love ice cream." Overall it's still a great book and beautifully illustrated. My cousin will love it regardless.

I gave this to my 7 year old . granddaughter as a gift. She loves it. Thank you for showing positive images of Black girls, one that she can identify with and relate to. The art work is magnificent. Please keep doing what your doing to shine this positive light.

My daughter ❤loves this coloring book. She has the colors of the world crayons that she uses among other colors... I Love this too!!

While visiting my French Canadian cousins, I noticed there beautiful chocolate daughters only had white dolls, white books, and etc. When I inquired about that, my cousin told me that it was very hard to find black dolls and black books in Canada. When they were coming to visit me in the states, I decided to make it my mission to buy all the kids some sort of toy or game that looked like them. The girls LOVED the coloring books. We spent half the night coloring together. Thank you!

I got this for my 3 year old son as i was tired of the conventional colouring books. I need him to see some diversity i am African. He loves it so i love it too. Thank you

These coloring books are very important - it is shocking how difficult it is to find coloring books or clothing featuring humans that are not automatically white characters. Thank you!

The kids loved seeing and colouring princesses that looked like them. They took great pride in their colouring technical.

Bought this colouring book for my 3 and 6 year old they both love it. Lots of variety from sporty to super shero girls love seeing themselves reflected in these character.

brought this several times as friends ask me to get some for their children
