So, you live in a 125 year old house (originally lit by gas). Whomever wired (or, more accurately rewired) the place set the plaster depth boxes very deep. So deep that they had especially long screws (now old and corroded) that were barely a single turn on the thread. I come to replace switches and sockets with a shiny new chrome finish plate, but the fixing screws are way too short. These little gems are the solution! Solidly made, just screw the extender into the plaster depth box (adjusting the length as necessary) then the cover screws into the extender. A cheap and effective solution and useful to keep in your toolbox - just in case!

Good product, gets you out of a jam.

After telling the plasterer not to plaster the wall as the sockets had not been moved......... these were needed to extend the back box. They worked a treat and were easy to install and to use. Note to self - double check understand!
