An essential for a beginner.
As a beginner, this made holding the bow much, much easier and more comfortable. I consider it essential now.

Added ease of grip without adding a major shift in size
Unlike the Wada puffy grip, this grip adds โgripโ, grin but not much added size. A place for your thumb and really helped me relax the grip while the soft material helps my control without tightening my hand or fingers. Having arthritis in my bow hand, this addition to both of my bows really made an immediate difference. Anyone need a Wada grip. The Wada is nicely made also but adds size which did not work as well for me.

Excellent relief to prevent thumb pain
I ordered this again for my new bow. It is a wonderful addition. The other is starting to wear out on the older bow. I did not give 5 stars because the delivered date was a week before the item was actually delivered. I was told there would be no refund and check with neighbors. I have a safe neighborhood and a very close network with them. We are aware of anything going on. They were also watching for the package. The tracking had said it was delivered to my mailbox. I had almost given up getting it and was determined to not buy another even though I would have missed its enhancement for my bow hold. I can only say donโt believe the tracking information and wait a week or two. If itโs not delivered you wonโt have recourse to get a refund or replacement.

Ideal for cello!
I'm writing this review to reassure potential buyers that the Stringvision Bowgrip does indeed work perfectly well for cello, contrary to what a couple of reviewers have written. It would be a shame if people were discouraged by those negative comments, since the product itself is fabulous. A very different experience with the bow! Use it a while and then bow without it and you wonder why fiddlers/violinists/cellists haven't revolted earlier against the discomfort of the traditional bow after 400 years.... To the negative comments. A couple of reviewers have complained that it is hard to fit onto the bow. True, it takes a few minutes, but it's a one-time thing. (You do not want to buy it if you for some reason need to remove it and re-install it repeatedly.) There are tips about using talcum powder or corn starch to let it glide more easily (see other comments). I have never done that -- if you are just patient, it should go on fine. Another reviewer strangely complained that the indentation on the grip forces you to hold your thumb "between the wood and the hairs." Exactly! That's the point -- that's where you want your thumb, and yet the design of the bow means it's not comfortable to hold the bow there. The Stringvision grip puts your thumb where it's supposed to be, but cushions it from the sharp metal of the frog. I've played cello for nearly 40 years. I've played daily with my Stringvision grip for six months now. It's the best $14-15 I've spent on any musical accessory.

Great for Relaxed Comfortable Bow Grip!
Does wear out after several months of consistent use and gets holes. Once removed when worn out you canโt put it back on. Good minimal cost investment for your grip, hand and frog but you will need extras for replacement or after string change. Overall the best bow grip for relaxed comfort and for your thumb.

Excellent grip for cello bow
This is a perfect grip for my cello bow. I've tried many types and this is by far the most comfortable and least bulky.

Feels secure and comfortable
Now that I have arthritis in my hands, I sometimes drop the bow. This helps my grip it more securely, and feels more comfortable. They wear out after about a year, so I bought several.

Good fit, soft, but too thin.
Wears out too quickly, but is a good fit.
