When I travel, I use a 15.6" external monitor for additional screen space. Because I'm reading documents that are written in a portrait-oriented format, I turn the monitor on its end. The monitor that I have has all the jacks and controls on the short sides (that would be, the right and the left if I were using landscape orientation), which can be a challenge once the monitor is rotated. Plan A was the case/stand that came with the monitor. That was no good because a) it lacks support in the upper half of the monitor, and b) it requires the monitor to rest on the table surface, which blocks the input ports. Plan B was to use a hinged wooden plate holder that I found in the attic. It did give access to the ports, but provided very little support and it was wobbly. Very, very wobbly. Plan C was a cute laptop stand that looks like two skis with an x hinge in the middle. It was lightweight for travel, and set up easily but did not give access to the ports. That brings us to this product, the Pepper Jobs holder. I was emotionally prepared for it to be another flop but it was a SUCCESS! It is a little heavier than I would have wanted (keeping in mind it will be in my carry on with all the other computer gear on lengthy trips), but it needs that weight to allow the support portion to be lifted off the table... GIVING ACCESS TO THE INPUT PORTS... without losing stability. It doesn't have additional support for the upper part of the monitor, but somehow (maybe because of the weight of the base and good contact area at the base of the monitor) the size of the "backrest" is adequate. My advice - if you struggle with an external monitor that you need to turn to a portrait orientation, try this stand first - you won't be disaapointed, and you'll save yourself a lot of headache (and possibly tipped, scratched monitors and damaged cables along the way too!)

A few of the reviews mentioned that the stand collapsed under the weight of the portable monitor. Thus far, the stand seems super sturdy and holds my monitor just fine (1.5lbs). I love that the stand folds down for easy packing and traveling. Would recommend. Update: 2 years later they still hold up. We lived in a camper and put our work stuff away every day (including these stands). They still don't fall down. Good purchase.

As a stand for an iPad Pro 12" with a heavy duty case on it, it works great. Very happy with the purchase. For having such a small footprint its very stable and pretty light weight given what we're asking it to do. Folds down relatively flat for storage, or just move it aside, it's small enough not to take up much desk real estate at all. Pretty stable. Too far back (near vertical) with the platform too far horizontal and gravity will take it backwards, and too far down the weight of my ipad with a heavy case on it, has the thing slowly glide down to land on the base. Sure the hinge could be more rigid, and i've tried some that are very rigid, that wont budge from any position, and that's too rigid to the point that you have to take the ipad off it to wrestle it into some into a new position, so maybe that's the trade off. But for that middle to upper middle rage sweet spot, or all the way down, it's perfect. The telescoping arms lock in at the highest position, but not anywhere else. Non-slip pads on the platform and base work great. Nice finish. So far, totally recommend it.

I recently purchased a 12.9 inch iPad Pro instead of yet another laptop. I use my iPad every day for reading and playing music especially, among numerous other useful tasks. I found a very sturdy cover for the entire iPad that is highly protective and has a leather handle on the back which is also useful. I don't want to keep taking this cover on and off. This fold able stand is the answer. Add a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, you have the equivalent of a powerful laptop with a very sweet display screen held up at the perfect level for typing or for watching a movie in a hotel room if you are on a trip. This stand is very sturdy. I doubt it will wear out and it certainly supports the 12.9 inch iPad which for weight is a bit of a beast.

A wonderful, sturdy, and convenient stand that is very easy to pack. I do wish I could lock the angle of the shelf, because I use it to raise up lightweight audio equipment on my DJ booth that I'd like to keep level. Still, with a little experimentation it works fine, and the flat-packing portability and easy setup more than make up for it.

I bought this for the S1 DragonTouch 4k 15.6'' Monitor. Now that monitor does have this stand sort of "Sagging" to a point, due to the weight, but it holds it up perfectly fine. Anything more I feel as if this stand cannot support the weight. So if your monitor or ipad weighs more than 1.70 lbs, you might have some issues. It's dense, built very well, and sleek. Zero complaints on my part and it does it job well.

Works great a first, but after a while the support will not hold the iPad at the set height, but slowly sinks to the lowest level. Also the tabs that hold the iPad are not very strong and now my iPad leans to the left.

I love this stand! I use it for my iPad, but it could also easily be used for a different tablet, or for my phone (although, only horizontally, as the gap would be too wide, unless I just wanted to “stand” my phone against it.) Anyhow, I love the fact that it is so stable and permits you to set it in just the viewing angle that you like. I use this all the time. It’s one of the best things I’ve bought this year.

The weight adds to the stability but makes it less convenient to lug around The right bracket on my device was mal-aligned and resulted in some rotational offset of the screen, otherwise this product would have been rated higher

C'était en complément pour un cadeau avec une tablette pour mon mari. Il est très satisfait. Il s'ajuste très bien autant sur la hauteur que dans l'angle de vision vers l'avant. Très solide pour supporter une tablette de 10.4 po. Plié il se range très facilement et prend très peu d'espace pour emporter en voyage. Mon mari l'aime beaucoup pour lire son journal quotidien numérique. Très bonne qualité prix . Je le recommande sans hésiter.

Often with items like this I find myself wondering if it will be solidly build or cheap and plastic in feeling before buying. We can to some extent gauge this from the listed weight but it's not the same as having it in your hand. I used it for my second screen and so far it has been excellent, really well built. My only criticism, and it's not of the product per se, more a practical challenge, is it doesn't actually raise the monitor up much off the desk (it's literally a stand) so you need to have a second item to sit the stand on.

After reading reviews carefully on Amazon.ca, I can see why people love this product. The Pepper Jobs Tablet Holder is capable of holding my portable monitor, the Dragon Touch S1 Pro series with 15.6 inches. I can now use both monitors on my I-Mac without any frustration and can adjust the stand with comfort for the eyes. This is useful if you are coding as a Web Designer, Multitasking when editing videos or just watching movies and surfing the web at the same time. The best part is the price is affordable and you can take this in your bags when going on trips. Very innovative. Highly recommended.
