Great for Brassy Highlights!
I recently got my hair highlighted. I knew it was going to be a gamble as my stylist was highlighting over DIY color that had red and gold undertones. When I left the salon, I wasn't super happy with how my hair looked because it was showing a lot of warmth - some pieces even looking orange. I tried to use the purple shampoo I had on hand at home and it really didn't do much to correct the issue.I ordered this product after reading promising reviews. I applied this shampoo on dry hair and left it on for 30 minutes. As you can see by the pictures, after one use there was a huge improvement in the brassiness of my hair. The shampoo is a bit drying but that is something I can deal with if it helps tone down the hair. I will continue to use this shampoo on a regular basis to keep the highlights looking nice and ashy.

2nd Purchase! This stuff really works for brown hair with blonde highlights!
I started getting gray coming in on top so to hide it I get my hairdresser to use a semi permanent brown dye and then he adds blonde foil highlights. But lately he never leaves the highlights in long enough when I am under the heat lamp so this results in a reddish orange brassy tone I cant stand! I had tried a couple of purple shampoos I had on hand while waiting for this to come in and with those it wasn't a very quick fix. This shampoo came in and I washed my hair last night and left it on for 20 minutes. Washed my hair again tonight and left it on for 25 minutes and it has already almost taken all the brassy orange tones away and is leaving me with the blonde highlights that should have been there to begin with! A couple more washes, maybe one more and I think I will be good to go for awhile. I have read some people on here say it was a shampoo that left their hair really dry but trust me, itreally doesn't compared to the others I have used! The others I have used dried my hair out so bad it felt like a hay stack! This one actually feels more moisturizing than any I have tried! And I did not buy the matching name brand blue conditioner like I did previously, cause I just could t afford it this time so I just used my regular conditioner and everything is good. The matching blue conditioner to this shampoo is a much much lighter blue so I don't think using that conditioner really makes that much of a difference as far as helping to also drastically eliminate those brassy orange tones like the shampoo does.. The main product is this deep dark blue shampoo that does the trick! And yes it will dye your hands if you don't wear gloves so either deal with it or wear gloves! LOL YOU WANT IT that dark blue so it stains everything it touches because that potent blue dye is what makes this shampoo so effective! I also put on a plastic disposable shower cap on my hair while i am letting it sit.The picture of me with most of my hair showing turned sideways is showing how brassy orange my hair was before I started. The other pics are showing how it is looking after just 2 washes.

Meh
I was hoping that deviating from purple to blue would help my brassy highlights… it hasn’t really made any difference to the tones I am trying to correct. Some even look brighter brassy. I don’t know that I would try again or buy again. But please go for it if you feel like this is what you need.I have used this product three times with time in between. I have let it sit for a bit longer than Instructed in the areas that I would love to correct. I have curly hair and thick, it does feel a bit more dry and tangled than usual after use of this shampoo. It does stain your hands applying directly to skin. It has a cool glossy color but still not what u buy this product for. Not a bad scent. I’ll use til it’s done.1st pic before use,2nd pic latest use-

Great toning shampoo!
This is a great product! I’ve been slowly lightening my hair and this blue shampoo helps counteract any orangey/brassy tones in my hair. The shampoo smells good and lathers well, does what it’s supposed to do! I will continue to buy this. I use it once or twice a week.

Hair Background & Product Experience Review
Just a little background on my hair: I had highlights that had grown out at the top, so it looked like a balayage. I then dyed my entire head dark brown using a store-bought permanent gray hair dye. Later, I used the L'Oréal Paris Colorist Secrets Hair Color Remover Kit to remove the dark brown, and my hair turned red/orange.After that, I tried using L'Oréal Paris 6A Light Ash Brown, but it didn’t really take. So I followed up with L'Oréal Paris Crystal Brown. That helped tone down the orange a bit, but my hair still had a reddish tone overall—especially at the roots, which looked more orange than the rest.———————————I then tried this blue shampoo and left it on my dry hair for about an hour, hoping to really let the product soak in. I followed up with the conditioner after rinsing. The top of my hair is still orange/red, while the ends now have a slightly greenish tint.Overall, I’m happy that the red/orange tones have been toned down somewhat, but I’m still skeptical about how much more it will improve with continued use. I’ll keep using it for now and see how it goes!

Not a good option.
I bought this blue shampoo because it was recommended for treating unwanted orange tones, but unfortunately, it didn’t make any difference. I left it on for 15–20 minutes, and while it seemed to work while it was on, the orange tones returned immediately after rinsing. I was also disappointed to find that the bottle was already half empty. I’m honestly surprised, especially since I bought a purple shampoo at TJ Maxx for half the price and it came full.I will not buy this again.
