Q: Can I bypass the tone/ amp and delay/mod sections to just use the IR section with my favorite tube preamp pedal?

Not exactly, but here goes. You can turn off the tone and amp with button “C”, and delay and modulation with button “B”. That leaves you with IR Cab and reverb. Assuming you can just turn the reverb all the way down, leaving you with just cab modeling

When the light turns green, the unit is charged.
