But why all that artificial sweetener?!!!
I am big on the low carb high fat way of eating. Shed 15 lbs 2.5 years ago and have been on this since then. But no decent cook books around. So I was excited. Got it right away. The intro is awesome, written by dr Westman. But then the recipes would throw in all this artificial sweetener! Unnecessarily! I don't use that. It can stall weight loss and can raise blood sugar. So then I just get annoyed as they put it in every sauce and whatnot. Urgh.

WOW! What a Change!
This is a book designed to deliver people from diabetes and insulin resistance. It is a lifestyle change. We purged our house of high carb foods. It requires a commitment to three net 5 carb. meals and one 5 carb. snack per day and the book gives recipes to accomplish it. My wife, who is diabetic, and I have been on the diet for a month and we have lost both weight and inches and my wife doesn't need her medication. I would recommend this book with the caveat that it won't be easy, but nothing worthwhile is.

wonderful book, made it easy to understand this healthier way of eating. The recipes are easy and amazingly very tasty. It's made my transition from bad eating habits to healthy ones, an easier one than I could have imagined. After 3 weeks I have already dropped 10 lbs and feel more energy, and my eczema is even clearing up. New A1c...6.7!!!!Thank you Diana Carpender

key ingredients left out of ingredients list -- like mozz. cheese
Makes meal planning and keeping to @ 20g carb per day a snap. Found a few errors in the book tho'...key ingredients left out of ingredients list -- like mozz. cheese, which forms the entire crust of the backwards pizza, is left out.

Great book for dedicated low carbers.
It's a great help to those of us with diabetes have determined that the very low carb lifestyle serves us best. Recipes don't require you to go out and tons ingredients that are hard to find and you've never heard of before. She keeps it as simple as she possibly can.

Easy Delicious Recipes with 5 carbs or less
I have been on the keto diet for 5 months - but I still learned a few things from this book regarding diabetes and the diet. The recipes are EASY... not alot of ingredients. I will try most all of them. I was surprised in that some recipes use ingredients that are more processed than I would choose ... but for overall value I couldn't give this book less than 5 stars!

Great, until it isnt.....
The recipes that are complete are GREAT. However, there are a few that are incorrect....like the pork roast that says to slow cook for 14 hours with no liquid.....

Definitely worth a try!
I am 53 and 2 weeks into this diet. My fasting glucose level has dropped 74 points in those two weeks from 195 to 121. So far I'm impressed.

not long been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes gutted and didnt know lot about this condition i felt all dark and doom untill i read danas book its a good read and i learnt so much and have got my sugars levels perfect with the help of this good diet and feeling so much better

An excellent book for anyone who is interested in reducing their carbs to avoid diabetes
. The recipes are excellent and all of them are only 5 carbs. I have bought low carb cookbooks in the past and been disappointed but I cannot recommend this one highly enough. Some of the ingredients are US like 'heavy cream' but it is possible to find alternatives.
