Are the luminescent markers self-luminating (tritium), or do they need to be exposed to light for them to be luminous in the dark?

I believe the markers are luminous paint. There is luminosity only in the four cardinal directions on the interior of the compass, while the degree markings around the outer circumference are plain white paint. In order to be fully functional for luminous use, the compass would need luminous markers on the cardinal points and also on the degree markers. This would make such a compass very expensive indeed. There may be a small amount of tritium dust embedded in the paint but these are not solid tritium markers such as you would find on high grade rifle sights. The markers glow very faintly but you can enhance the glow by shining a bright light onto the markers for several seconds. If the compass fits your watchband, it will be functional but don't expect military grade performance. In pitch dark, you will need to acquire a ray of light from somewhere in order to use this compass. Moonlight should be sufficient to allow use of the compass but not sufficient to charge the luminous markers.

What os (one size) means? does it mean it can work in northern and southern hemisphere?

This can be used for diving?  I don't see a depth resistance rating on it's description.  Thanks.

Mine has survived 15+ dives between 40 and 80 ft and works great clipped to the lower strap of my wrist-mounted computer just above where it meets the buckle.  I don't expect any problems with zero air visible inside.
