Great product
This psyllium supplement powder checks all the boxes for me - price is right, organic, no additives ( artificial sweeteners, etc.) dissolves well in hot liquid. Gels quickly so drink up! Basically tasteless and makes a smooth gel with minimal “ grittiness”. I tsp/ day is enough so this lasts a few months. I have a rechargeable tiny whisk arriving tomorrow which will make mixing foolproof. I also often include chia seeds and many other sources of fiber in my daily meals so I’m on track to meet fiber goals

10x better than metamucil
10x better than metamucil (which I've used for years). This is a bit hard to mix, but it's real psylium and absolutely helps with digestion of food. Only concern is the mandatory "might have known bad chemicals in it", wish someone would clarify what that is.

Inconsistent Powder Fineness- Otherwise Good
I have been purchasing this for my dog as it was prescribed to her to help her digestive issues. This does an excellent job thickening her food (added to water, then some pumpkin, then dry food to soften). I like to run the powder through a tea strainer sieve to avoid clumps.Sometimes the powder isn’t ground as fine and it can’t go through the strainer. This happens in about 20% of the bags I have purchase over the past year or so.The finer powder has more surface area exposed and thickens more quickly than more coarse powder. This has the effect of appearing to thicken better overall, but I haven’t run tests. My dog’s poo has been fairly consistent either way. This is an effective product in a bulk size packaging along with expected value. I will continue to reorder, but I wish that it was more consistently ground.

CONCENTRATED MIX IT PROPERLY
Those who say it clumped, mixed it all wrong. It's very fine, which makes it more economical because you get more product rather than fillers that make it easier to mix in tap water.I needed to lower my cholesterol a lot. I experimented with this until it was easier to mix. It takes barely a teaspoon in at least 8 oz of very hot water while beating it fast. I use a tiny whisk. The consistency is similar to light syrup. I've added this to my soups without any taste of the product, just thickening. Of course you will use more for larger amounts of liquid. For cold drinks, I add a teaspoon to very hot water, only 4 oz and beat fast, then add my orange juice concentrate, mix fast and add cold water to taste. I don't gulp it down. The juice mix is like a smoothie and I sip it like a smoothie. All you have to do is find foods you like and mix small amounts at a time. Remember it's highly concentrated! I mixed less than a teaspoon in a mug of my favorite chicken broth, BETTER THAN BOUILLON, and it thickens almost like a gumbo. I like the thicker consistency for hot soups. The taste can be masked with spices or sweeting or flavor additives. It's not an awful taste, just not yummy. Results of using this has meant getting "cleaned out" incredibly well!I like this product very much. It will last a long time and I'll continue to play with it because my health depends on lowering this chlosterol as much as possible.I'm hopeful and happy to work with this wonderful product.I hope others will be patient and work with it the way it will work well for you.

Takes some getting used to
I bought Viva Naturals Organic Psyllium Husk Powder because I'm out of unsweetened, unflavored Metamucil and need some psyllium husk powder for regularity. I am an average American, not a person concerned about organic this or nature that; this purchase was made for convenience and price point. This product is NOT like Metamucil. It's far more finely milled, so it's basically like a reasonably fine powder, whereas Metamucil is more a coarse powder. It's in an obnoxious zipper bag which will not rezip due to too much powder being caught in the zipper tracks, so you have to be sure to store it away from any sources of humidity, meaning the kitchen, near bathrooms, etc. It also does not travel through a funnel very easily, so it was hard to transfer it into a better container. The way I use it is to pre-measure a cup of water, add a little flavoring, and then put a heaping teaspoon of it in the cup. I stir it very briskly for a good while and then I drink it very quickly. It takes more stirring than Metamucil and it clumps A LOT more than Metamucil. I think I would need a blender to get the clumps out, but fortunately they're fairly small. If you drink this immediately after stirring, it doesn't have time to set. However, because it is a fine powder and it does clump, I end up with micro-clumps of it left over in my mouth in the cracks between my teeth. This stuff tastes like raw wheat without the slightly sweet flavor wheat can have, which makes it fairly unpalatable to American tastes. I would not try this stuff without flavoring until I'd gotten used to the texture. It is not a joy to consume this, but it is over pretty quickly and only leaves a mild aftertaste after you wash your mouth out post-drinking it. And it does work, which is the point of taking it in the first place. However, you want to brush your teeth before bedtime if you use this stuff or you will hate life in the morning.Basically, this product is not a delight and the packaging needs some rethinking, but if your goal is to be regular, it does the job. The benefits barely outweigh the concerns.
