DC Direct Justice League: Aquaman Action Figure

I already own six of the other New 52 action figures in this run, but by far, this one is the best. Aquaman is not my favorite DC character by any stretch, but from a quality and attention to detail level this figure really exceeds the others. The wash on the paint job for his tunic is superb, really makes it stand out and is very eyecatching. I'm completely serious when I say that it looks exactly as I would expect it to if Aquaman existed and I were to meet him in real life. The accessories are also a wonderful touch. The trident with chain and the necklace all lend themselves to the completeness of the look. And the head sculpt - what can I say, other than it fits the rest of the figure to a "T". I know this get's said a lot, but in this case it's absolutely true - the product picture does NOT do it justice. Just trust me and take my word for it when I say this is without question the finest figure in the set. If you're looking to complete your own set don't hesitate. Just do yourself a favor and add this guy to the cart and be happy.

This figure was sent to me from my wishlist for my birthday. I like the representation of one of the most underrated characters in DC Comics. Aquaman is often unfairly disrespected, and most action figures don't do him justice. This one is reasonably accurate to the pages of the comics but more epic and majestic. The scales on the upper part of his costume are a nice touch, carved out rather than painted on. And the color is more dark-gold than orange. One detail that most collectors consider a negative is the lack of articulation of his ankles. But it is a plus for me since it makes it more stable in the slightly leaning position I put it in. However, for those who place a high value on articulation, this is something to consider before purchasing the figure.

Poor Aquaman, he just isn't taken seriously. This figure was an attempt to give him some macho cred and make him look as badass as possible, but, well..it is still Aquaman. The detailing is impressive--scales all over, shiny reflective gold and green paint, muscles galore and a tight sixpack...and a pretty little necklace to undermine all that, as well as a golden chain anchoring his trident to his belt. His windblown hair looks sort of emo too, not rugged and manly. My copy came with the chain tangled around his trident and neck, and the box has a crease so it isn't really collectible quality. but, again, it is Aquaman, there is no such thing as collectible with him.

When i saw the justice league figures come out, i said to myself i probably would not get Aquaman. He is not my favorite character and i felt the other figures looked better. BOY WAS I WRONG! this figure is perfect. This figure surprised me so much more than the figures i actually wanted like Batman or Green Lantern. I love those figures because they are my favorite heroes, but Aquaman was just better detail and a much better figure. I waited to get him last but man am i glad i got him last instead of not all all like i originally planned. This figure looks great and sticks out in your collection. Highly recommend it.

I give this figure 4 stars because i hate how his arms cant move that well because of the scales . He has one peg hole in his foot so if any of you have a stand its best to put him on one cuz he tends to tip over. Im really sad that i didnt realize he has such limited articulation in his arms and legs,hands and feet. But i have been waiting forever to have this figure because i love the sculpt of this aquaman and the shiny paint and most of all the chain and necklace accessory. im super happy that this is my first aquaman! I recommend this figure to all the lady aquaman lovers out there !

Good figure

Aquaman is a bit of an underdog character in terms of how the public sees him. Fans know he's more than a punchline. Whoever sculpted this figure knows it, too. Right off the bat, yes, this is probably what you'd call a display only figure. It has many good points of articulation, but if you're at all like me, you're an adult who just loves getting and displaying your favorite characters. You don't necessarily play with them all that much or want to put them in a bunch of different positions. In fact, if this sculpt were a 1/6 display piece, I think it'd be perfect. It has an intensity the character has in the New 52 books (I'm not really that familiar with the books prior) that I can't remember seeing conveyed in the bigger models where usually he's kind smiling and inviting. This sculpt conveys the side of Aquaman where you feel his strength and imagine his enemies maybe dreading a tuna can of whup-ass being opened on them. I bought this figure two years ago, and it's still probably in my top 3 favorite figures. Like I said, the sculpt is beautiful. The colors are amazing. The intangible presence that seems like it'd be hard getting into a lifeless hunk of plastic is loud and proud.

I am not a collector by any means but I couldn't stop myself when I saw this figure. I must say, it is just awesome. The detail is incredible. It's sturdy. Stands on its own. Paint on the figure it's self is flawless. My one complaint is the trident. It feels very cheap. Also, my trident has a splash of green paint on it and the tip was a bit bent. But for display purposes, the green paint is easily hidden. Also, the chain on the trident is easily unscrewed for the figure itself, so if you're buying for children, be cautious and remove the chain before allowing the kids to play with it. It wouldn't take much to break it.

First off, a little foreword. As a fan of Aquaman, I've been having mixed feelings about his new status quo in the rebooted DC universe, though I'm slowly warming up to it. We all know the jokes that he gets aimed at him, and while most are in good fun having them as the established attitude of people towards him seems a little odd, especially given that he inevitably proves them wrong each and every time they venture to comment on his abilities. Anyway, all that aside, let's get down to business here. This figure is simply superb, easily one of the highest quality figures I've bought in recent times. The detailing is incredible; the pictures, as other reviewers have noted, simply do not do this figure justice. His face in particular looks incredibly realistic, and what mold lines there are on him are very well hidden and thus don't detract from the overall look of Aquaman at all. He is not especially posable - certainly not as much as his DC Universe Classics figures were - but honestly that's not a problem. This is clearly a figure much more suited to display than use, anyway, and as such it is of the highest quality I've seen in DC's recently released range to date. The colouring of his costume in particular is worthy of noting; the gold scale of his shirt is absolutely beautiful, probably the best example of such a colouring that I've seen, and as others have noted, it actually resembles the colouring of the comics. The colouring on the hair too is fantastic, and overall everything looks exactly as it should. The Wonder Woman figure I first bought was excellent, and Aquaman is even better; if this trend continues, these may well be the finest figures DC has ever produced for the collectors amongst us. Excellent quality, fantastic detail, and I would certainly recommend it.

Veramente ben fatto.. curato nei particolari e nei dettagli. Ricorda molto la versione in cartone di acquaman dei mie tempi.. Peccato che questo supereroe così come è fatto c'è solo di questa misura circa 18cm.. Cmq mio figlio è rimasto molto contento ugualmente.

Cet action figure est vraiment sublime dans chaque trait du visage et costume et fidèle à son apparition dans Justice League New 52.

Ich danke der Dame vor mir für Ihren unglaublich schlechten Racheakt und beglückwünsch den armen Kerl sie los zu sein. Niveau gibt es eben nicht in kleinen blauen Dosen. Um es mal auf den Punkt zu bringen und das zu machen wozu Rezensionen da sind. Ich bin eigentlich kein Aquaman Fan und hab sie mir eigentlich nur gekauft um meine JLA-Sammlung zu vervollständigen. Umso angenehmer war dann die Überraschung als Diese dann gewohnt schnell geliefert wurde. Die Figur ist Detailgetreu, sehr gut verarbeitet und verleiht meiner Sammlung einfach etwas Fehlendes. Super Sache. Gerne wieder.
