Did a lot of comparison guesswork picking this item. Repair was a success. My thoughts.. busted screen removal is a PITA. Some kind of dissolving agent would have been wonderous in this kit for the old glue (and as I write this, I just realized I have several in the garage). I'm electronically and mechanically inclined, took about 4 hours for the whole deal, with extraordinary caution. Not for the impatient or butterfingers. Back to the product.. The glass was undamaged, and packed well enough to protect it from reasonable shipping conditions. It seems a bit thinner than OEM, and that concerned me during installation, and for the durability of the item installed. I can't say that it's a drawback, time will tell if it holds up. The pre-installed adhesive was reasonably well applied, the backings were a pain to peel up. Still quite thankful they are pre-applied. The Plastic Gasket, also with pre-applied adhesive tape. The adhesive wasn't completely aligned, and didn't stick particularly well to the gasket. The gasket itself seemed about 1-1.5mm too big, this could have been due to tiny dents in my devices frame. Could not get the last side to lay down (bowed up, it's glue wouldn't hold it down), so I ended up cutting it on the bottom side and removing about a millimeter. I'm the only person that could tell. the SlyPry bar pictured is a thin sliver of metal. Took a lot of trial and error to determine it's usefulness, but it worked well once I did. Use it after you've dug out the old plastic "gasket", after you've applied some heat, and after you've determined where the outside edge "lip" of the frame is. Get it past that lip and that tool is effective for slicing through the evil glue that is your nemesis. reapply heat liberally (doesn't take a lot, but much easier when very warm). The Blue "scraper". It's not heat proof. It will melt. I'd recommend this items composition be changed to a heat resistant substance. Use the small end for initial prying, the wide end when you have a solid piece of edge glass to grip.. the hooked edge is quite good for lever style lifting. Looking back it might have been able to fit between the glass and the gasket, prior to me removing said gasket from an obliterated corner. The metal "spudger".. I don't think I encountered a use for it. The tip was too thick for scraping, lifting, or otherwise. I'm sure it's true hidden purpose would've made life easier. The black plastic double ended spudger that's not shown, I used for most of the process. Very handy and held up to what I'm sure were unintended maneuvers. Screwdriver did what it was supposed to, even looks/feels of decent quality. It tackles 4 tiny screws.. super handy if you don't have a 00 phillips screwdriver around. It'll find a place in my toolbox. The screen lifters (pink/blue game piece looking things) are rubber suction cups. I did not use these.. when I tried them I felt like applying adequate pressure to firmly attach them would risk cracking the screen.. as might removal pf the cups. They might have been super handy for glass removal, had my glass not been terribly fractured. Learned after the fact that some packing tape across the screen might work to give these a smooth attachment surface for removal. I didn't use the included screen cleaners. Had microfiber handy, and some hot breath. so I didn't bother. My biggest tip, is be VERY meticulous removing the old glue. I used the plastic spudger, rubbing alcohol, and sometimes a paper towel to scrub the glue (paper bits get rolled into the glue, makes it MUCH easier to scrape). I wish I'd remembered the acetone in the garage, might have made it easier. The effort will pay off in giving you a flat even surface for the new glass (uneven = break under pressure), and should give the new glue a better bonding surface, Overall, the kit did it's job pretty well. I'm not confident the glue strips are strong enough, but I anticipated that from other reviews of this and other kits. Applied some pressure on a flat surface, even heated it slightly then allowed it to completely cool under pressure. I felt like it might not have gotten that super tight seal and grip I'd expect, I perceived a little give on one side of the screen (again could've been a bent frame).. But I didn't chance it, I put it directly into a tight fitting full case. 3 days in, looks like a new Ipad 2, and works like new too.

Can I give this zero stars??? I'm so sorry I ordered this piece of junk. Where do I begin? Well I'll add pictures tos how you, first off it comes in some flimsy horrifically cheap box. It's missing all its tools which were to be supplied with it. It's glued down strips are so far off in where they belong, the ribbon cable is taped on at a cocked angle, the camera button is glued on on an angle, and lastly the digitizer appears plastic although it may not be but it feels it and lastly the entire screen is visible with the pick up lines every quarter inch. WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND ALLOWED THIS TO PASS ANY QUALITY CONTROL WHAT SO EVER! junk junk junk... do not buy this. My time has completely been wasted, ordering this junk and waiting for it to arrive. Do yourself a favor and look to a different vendor. WOW is all I can say.

included all necessary tools but the phillips head screwdriver was bent and could not be straightened with reasonable force

Quality of screen and products that came with it are great, only issue I have had a problem with is that the plastic covering on the screen that I peeled off left a very thick sticky residue on my screen that I cannot get to come off.

prompt delivery, well packaged with everything needed- including that "gasket" thingy that is pretty necessary but not included in all kits.
