LOVE THIS IRON
LOVE THIS IRON! I've had cheap-eo irons and I've had $150 irons. This one is the best I've ever used. And let me say that back in the "olden days" I used to even have an ironing business (when I was in my early teens) for people in my neighborhood, so I know how to handle an iron! LOL We ironed everything in my home: shirts, pants, curtains, pillowcases. So..... What I love about it: The weight. It's not too heavy but it's heavy enough. Too light of an iron won't do the job well. The steam is fantastic. When turned up to the highest setting it really puts it out. The quickness of heat-up....one word: seconds. Boom. No drips, no weird water marks. Ever. (Those are deal breakers to me) What I don't love: Non-retractable cord. I know, I'm lazy. The location of the steam adjustment. Inevitably I accidentally turn it down (or off) while I'm ironing. Bottom line: Do not waste your money on a different iron. This one is THE BOMB. No drips, no splatters, amazing steam, perfect weight, great soleplate (stainless and smoooooth), excellent ability to get around buttons and in pleats with the ridge around the point....it's just a fantastic iron and an amazing price.

Fantastic iron - Great price, and top notch performance
Love it. Couldn't find a flaw at all. Buy it, you will not regret it. Even heat, fast heat up process, great steam production, even steam distribution, very low amount of water drip, big shoe design, nice tip for tight corners and odd angles, and it's one of the longest horns I've seen on an iron, making it great for large items to be done very quickly. Best control is on point, and it's low cost. I have had it about 30 or so days, so I can't really speak to longevity as of yet, but even if it only lasts 2-3 years, it's low cost enough not to really be too upset. Given the quality though, my wager is that it will last 5-7 years, minimum.

GREAT IRON...quilter and clothing
I bought two outrageously expensive "quilter" irons at over $100 each a year apart. Both began to leak a lot after a year (My wonderful hubby did not get the memo that I didn't want to buy that brand again. Hence, the second failed purchase of the same brand.) I bought this reasonably priced Sunbeam iron and have used it hard day after day for 16 months. It still makes great steam, gets very hot, is very easy to use and I love it! I just bought another one not because there was anything wrong with this one but because I accidentally melted something yucky on the soleplate. I'm sure this one will last me a good long time until I do something stupid again. Great product!!

One of the better irons I've owned at a great price!!
POSITIVES: Love how quickly it heats up and the amount of steam that comes out! It takes the wrinkles out beautifully! I quilt and It's the right weight for pressing those seams flat! NEGATIVES: 1. The water cap is made very cheaply and you need to hold the cap up while pouring the water in with the other. 2. The water sprayer button is under the handle, which takes getting used to when holding the iron. 3. When filing with water, it's difficult to see the fill line because it's dark in color. Overall, the iron itself performs beautifully and better then the cordless iron I paid twice the amount for!! It's a great iron and I'd buy it again!

Best Iron Ever!
I am an avid sewist and have been through SIX irons in the past eight years. They either stop steaming, don't get hot enough, leak, or all three. All were between $100 and $250. After the last one (an Oliso) I said, "Enough!" and bought this Sunbeam. It is, hands down, the best iron I have ever owned. It gets HOT, doesn't leak, and steams like crazy when I need it to. It has a powerful burst of steam feature. It also has auto shut-off, which many sewists don't like. This one, however, doesn't turn off until 15 minutes have passed -- then it reheats in no time. Don't waste your money on Reliable (which I had to repair twice) or Rowenta ($$$ and leaks) or Oilso (stopped steaming). This is the iron you've been looking for. BUT, I do have one complaint, which isn't bad enough for me to give it four stars. The cover to the place where you fill with water is very cheap and flimsy. So be careful with that.

Works great but some features are not to my liking
I'm somewhat conflicted rating this three stars as the performance of the iron is great and I really like how it works and steams. However, there are a few features I do not care for. The way you have to fill the water reservoir is awkward. You need to use one hand to hold it open as it doesn't stay open while you fill it. My last Sunbeam was so easy to fill. Also, the reservoir itself is against a dark gray background and is a little difficult to see how empty it is or how high it is when filling. For some reason they put the Fabric Select Dial under the handle which not only makes it difficult to turn, but also is hard to see the setting. My last Sunbeam had the dial on the top and it was so easy to see and use. And then there is the Spray Mist Trigger which is at the bottom of the handle. I guess it is supposed to be convenient, but I liked it on the top of the handle next to the shot of steam that my old Sunbeam had; it just feels in the way as I hold the iron. So, while the iron does work and steam well, I wish I had taken more time to examine these features because they and awkward and inconvenient.

Highly recommended!
I have now used this iron about 5 times. I am in love with this product! It might due to the fact that it made me realize how bad my previous iron was. Or it could be just that it's that nice of an iron. Either way, it's awesome. It doesn't hiss and leak water like my old one. The water inside actually lasts quite a while. I haven't had to change it yet. The iron surface is great and definitely appears that I will not have to worry about iron stains or burns. It's very quiet and easy to use. Although I haven't used it for the vertical steam option, it's nice to have that option. Overall, this is an amazing product at a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend it.

I am most happy with this Iron. I have had a Sunbeam Iron for about 25 years and it just quit. This new Iron is much nicer as it digitized and it is easier to read the fabric settings and is a bit lighter than the old one.
