Works Great But….
….there are things you need to do to to get the bang for your buck. Thankfully I read reviews otherwise I would have returned this thinking it didn’t work. So here goes:1) The iXpand Drive app is being retired 4/25 and will be replaced by SanDisk’s MemoryZone app. You’ll need to download both first.2) Use a lightening device to update the drive otherwise the drive won’t recognize your USB-C iPhone/tablet device3) Open the app, plug in the drive and magic happens. Follow the set-up prompts.4) Do not let your phone/tablet sleep or the data transfer will stop5) Use the eject feature when using the Memory ZoneOnce I figured out all of the above, using the drive itself is easy peasy. You can rename, delete, and organize your photos. Duplicates are no problem as you can opt keep or override them. Toggling between your device and the drive helps ensure you keep what you want on your phone. Open the app and plug the drive into your device and it will automatically backup new pictures. Once your pictures are on the drive, delete the pictures you don’t want on your phone to free up space. Don’t wait for the 30 day grace period for them to delete. Then check the Cloud to see how much storage you have on your device. Oops! Took a pic off your phone that you need? You can transfer it from the drive back onto your phone.Note: the drive will store music and videos but I don’t see a claim that it will store notes, files or folders.Personally, I use it to backup for my pictures and free up Cloud storage. It’s a small but mighty flash drive with a sleek, metal design. And I’m satisfied.

Still a fan, always a fan of scandisk
The media could not be loaded. Every time I need something they have a way to do it. So I needed a way to transfer videos from a Samsung to an iPhone. And unfortunately the Bluetooth option for some reason was not working and Google drive was not allowing such a large video to be uploaded even when compressed. So needless to say I decided to get an easier option and this was the best decision I have ever made. I have absolutely no complaints it has a c USB drive as well as a lightning connector. So I literally just showed photos on my phone of me plugging it in and going to the settings to manage it. You quite literally just click on the folder you want to move videos into once you click on the folder you'll be able to navigate through your gallery and find the images you either want to copy or move into there. Since minor videos I chose to just move them into the drive so I don't keep too much space taking up on my phone. I'm so happy about this. And for the price I genuinely believe it's worth it because I'm a big fan of quality. If you have a Samsung I showed you the steps above on how to do it and highlight it where to find it in yellow. I hope this helps. But if you were thinking about making the purchase I would because I'm 100% sure that you will not be disappointed. And I also forgot to mention my computer has a CUSB port so I can plug it into my computer which is a HP, my partners computer which is a Mac as well as both of our phones. This has seamlessly integrated our editing platform. Now granted obviously we don't want to lose it but lol this is definitely something that I think is amazing. Please don't forget to unmount it before you take it out of your phone or computer.

Great product, life saver
I have a few of these usbs for my phone, I’ve been using these for years. I have a ziplock bag for storing these. I have family pictures and these store and transfer well. I have never lost any of my media using these usbs, they’re definitely worth buying and using. The design makes it so easy to transfer the media onto the usb. The application is easy to follow and understand, it pretty much does the work for you. I’ve had several iPhones and it’s worked well over the years with any model. It’s perfectly compatible and it’s quick to transfer. I always recommend using this product for storing media.

Not your father’s iXpand drive
I upgraded to an iPhone with a USB-C connector, so my previous Lightning iXpand drive no longer worked, even with a Lightning to USB-C adapter (the adapter listing on Amazon said so, but I hadn’t read that far down the description). There is a HUGE difference between the Lightning iXpand and the USB-C iXpand Luxe, and I see from reviews that some users haven’t figured this out, and SanDisk is no help, because their packaging instructions don’t mention it either. However, the SanDisk website (support-en.sandisk.com/app/answers/detailweb/a_id/) does a good job of describing how to use the iXpand Luxe with iPhones that have USB-C ports.Basically, it works the same way as any flash drive works with any computer: The iXpand mounts as an external drive, in either a computer or an iPhone (or iPad), and appears as a device in the Files app on an iPhone or in the Finder on a Mac. In both cases just look under Locations. You can open it and treat it as any other drive. To copy photos to it, you open Photos, select the ones you want to transfer and choose Share, then To Files, and navigate in Files to the drive. To copy anything else works the same way as it would on a computer. It’s more work than it was with the iXpand app on Lightning port iPhones, but works as well. The performance is adequate, the iXpand and the iPhone both get hot during large transfers. The reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is the abysmal and wrong instructions that come with it; you need to go to the SanDisk support site to actually learn how to use it.
