If you need to run several VMs, this is for you. Power consumption is high, just look at the number of cores, add all available drives and yes that will shoot up your power bill. I run the day-to-day loads on separate boxes and fire this up for some experiments where extra cores/ram is needed. I would add it is still cheaper than paying for cloud services of the same size.

This server has 4 processors and enough RAM that will cover 99% of all home lab use cases with plenty resources to spare. Quality is excellent. The only downside is power consumption. If you run this 24 hours a day, you will see an increase on your power bill. My advice is to buy a “Kill a watt” meter and plug your hardware into this. You will be able to at least calculate how much power (money) you are consuming. Otherwise no other issues. This server run’s esxi 8.x without issue.

Everything arrived intact and well packaged. The server booted up just fine and seems to be operating perfectly. Cosmetically there were some scratches on the top cover but the front and back panels are pristine. One very small nit was that one of the hold down clips was broken on one of the expansion card risers, but it presented no problems. All in all, the server was delivered in excellent physical condition and perfect operating condition. IDRAC is working perfectly as well. This is an outstanding purchase for a home lab or small business. Oh, and contrary to the description, my server did come with a DVD.

The delivery was 5 days faster then expected. Be ready to take delivery or your box will sit in the rain. Dear Fedex, We have you on ring forging my signature.The memory needed to be reseated after shipping. This is common and was expected. I had a little trouble finding the dimm that was not in the slot correctly. Support was very helpful. During my testing process the server reported power supply B over temperature. The power supply B was week. It would support the system if running under low load, but power supply B would cut out after a few minutes. Power supply B was not able to boot the host from a cold start.Support was very responsive and shipped out a replacement over night no questions asked.Thank you for the help making this project a success.So far so good the host has been up and stable. This is a nice server. I have consolidate my work load off of simple desktop machines. I'm expecting to cut my power bill in half.

Works as advertised. Excellent for home lab.
