Gaming Monitor Review

240hz + zowie = amazing experience
First thing is first, most gamers looking at a 240hz monitor are wondering "is it really better than 144hz?" And the answer to that is 100% YES! I upgraded from an ASUS VG248QE 144hz monitor and I could instantly tell the difference. The difference between this XL2540K and the old XL2540 (which is now discontinued) is that they refreshed the monitor by allowing 120hz on consoles which the XL2540 does not allow. Zowie also lowered the price on this compared to the old XL2540 by removing the S shield and the shields that go on the monitor getting it to $329 compared the XL2540 which was $400. Now the difference between this and the XL2546K is that the XL2546K includes the S switch, monitor shields, and DYAC. Many CSGO pros such as zywoo, s1mple, and niko don't use dyac and this monitor is much cheaper compared to the XL2546K price of $499. The price is what attracted me to this monitor along with the zowie brand name and I was surprised to see it very well priced at $329 and I was impressed with them removing all those extra accessories to get the price lower since I don't even need any of those things(Zowie brand is used at all the csgo lans aswell). I play CSGO as my main game and this monitor is absolutely amazing for that, the difference is so big from 144hz and I am very satisfied with the purchase. Also shoutout to Zowie support if you message them on Twitter they will help you with any questions or problems and they answer very fast.

Perfect for Valorant
Hey hey,I'm coming from a ViewSonic XG270QG (1440P, 165HZ, 27" IPS) so I'm writing my review based on that transition.I use this monitor for two things: Valorant (and other eSports shooters) and Excel, etc for work. It's for that reason that I was willing to sacrifice on pixel density (1440p -> 1080p), colors (IPS panel -> TN panel) and size (27 -> 24).My experience gaming with this monitor has been overwhelmingly positive. The refresh rate is really amazing and there is a subtle but noticable difference in responsiveness. The motion handling is also great. Admittedly the colors and pixel density are pretty terrible but that is to be expected on a 1080p TN panel. I'm a bit disappointed in how little TN's have progressed since my last TN panel (Asus VG248H ~2012) but I have to admit that for the usecase of intense esports shooters, this is the best bet for most people. If you also plan to watch movies or play more cinematic titles but still need a high refresh rate, just get a 240hz IPS panel. I would recommend the AW2521H.All in all, I am very satisfied.

Top of the line gaming monitor - totally worth every penny!
I didn't give it a five because it has to truly be the best on the market while still being a reasonable price for me to give a 5. I think people give out 5s entirely too easy and you can't trust half of them, they are like 1's. The person was either too lenient in their scoring or the person is just angry at some rare event and just want to vent. That said, the monitor is perfect for FPS games, especially if you want to play competitively. I mostly play Overwatch and a 240hz monitor (up from 60hz and even 144hz though to a lesser extent) is a major difference. Don't believe the "humans can't notice more than 60hz anyway" load of bull-ish. It's not true in the real world. Don't believe me? Try this, get you a monitor that can go up to 240hz, but start off at 60hz, and go to your desktop home screen, move your mouse back and forth very quickly within about a 2 to 3 inch (roughly 5 to 7 cm), and notice the amount of motion blur that your mouse cursor icon has, then do the same for 144hz, and then 240hz. You will notice that the higher your monitor's refresh rate, the less motion blur of your mouse cursor will have. Basically, you will notice that the mouse cursor icon renders more times with the higher refresh rates and less times with the slower refresh times. Once you get a 240hz monitor (or at least a 144hz), you will not want to ever go back to a 60hz monitor, and you be able to almost immediately tell that you are on the reduced refresh rate. It's a weird phenomenon because before you experience the higher refresh rate, your brain doesn't know any better, and 60hz feels decent because you've gotten used to it, but the moment you switch to 144hz or even better at 240hz, then the more apparent the difference is and you will be very happy with your purchase. Other than the 240hz super fast refresh rate (I don't think there is a good reason to go over 240hz for 99.99% of games as there are diminishing returns the higher your get, you notice a big difference between 60 to 144, and a medium difference between 144 to 240, but from 240 to 360 or even 240 to 500, most people actually can't tell which monitor they are on b/c of the diminishing returns factor.

Perfect for gaming and daily use.
This monitor works great for gaming and general use. There are a lot of different settings you can adjust to get the picture that looks best to you. There are also some very solid preset options which I have used since I received this monitor and I haven't made any changes. This monitor was very simple to assemble and I would highly recommend this to anybody that hasn't ever had a monitor at a higher refresh rate. This montior will spoil you. Once you go to 240Hz, it's hard to go back to anything else!
