This string trimmer head design is almost brilliant. The feed system works great. When the string cartridge runs out it is super easy to change out and takes less than 30 seconds. That keeps your productivity up. No messing around with large spools of line trying to get it spooled around a trimmer head properly so it feeds right when needed. The head itself is easy to change out. All needed hardware is included. The string cartridges are reasonably priced and last a long time as long as you don't try to cut chain link fence or cut concrete. I recommend trying this trimmer head and the available cartridges if you are tired and frustrated of your OEM trimmer heads.

I recently learned about these speed load heads about 2 years ago and I will never use another head. If you own a company and are just sick of trying to deal with teaching people how to load line over and over this will save so many headaches. The line is very durable and last a lot longer then you would think you can buy the line in packs of 10 or 25 and it takes no brain power at all to switch to a new spool quick and easy and no tools are required, I’ve never had a head get jammed up or any issue at all. This could be the best purchase you ever make for lawn care crews or home use. Would recommend over and over!

I first started buying this product a few years ago. It worked great. This year, I have had to purchase several new heads because they keep breaking. In addition, the string cartridges do not fit properly and then when you try to bump feed, the string gets all gobbed up. Then, if it does come out, it's way too long. I have to throw out half and 3/4 used cartridges due to the misfiring and gumming up issue. Looking around for an alternative be ause this product has been nothing but problems.

The worst thing about using a weedeater is winding line. First used this on a cubcadet weedeater that had a terrible bump feed head and really enjoyed how this system worked for line replacement. Purchased a Honda weedeater and first thing I did was install the oregon speedload head. The build quality is top notch, which you would expect for the price on this thing. Currently using this on a 35cc engine, but if I was running a smaller engine I could see the weight of the head possibly causing issues. With that said I ran the same head on a 25cc engine with no problem. My yard would usually get 2 trims off a single fill of string inside the head. With the oregon head I'm getting about 8 trims off a single cartridge which is nice. The cartridges are pricey compared to buying bulk string so I'm not sure if this is worth the cost if you are a professional landscaper. The cartridges are very quick to replace, you also find when you have problems with the bump feed is when you are nearly out of string also. So it's nice for me because I'm getting a warning I'm low on string because I start having to wind the engine out to get more string. Install was simple on the cubcadet and Honda, your mileage may vary depending on brand and model weedeater. Sadly I have lots of chain link fence and a brick house and both eat up string.

This Oregon unit and .095 trimmer sting is the best I’ve ever used, easy to install on a stihl and easy to reload, all of the other weed eater string I’ve used wouldn’t hold up and I’d just quit trimming for the day, I spent an hour plus using it today and it works amazingly and the string is super strong.

I really like the concept of the SpeedLoad system, but this item does not work on my Toro 51958 curved shaft trimmer. I gave it 3 stars because it looks well made and would be nice to not have to be constantly winding the trimmer line. Just a heads up that the list of trimmers that the 24-250 documentation says it will work on isn't 100% accurate.

First!!!...Make sure you double check your Model Number of your Weed Eater, there are different sizes but the search query seems to pass this step. Assembly, fairly easy,(Unless you have the wrong size!!) Operation: First use was excellent but there seems to be a slight problem with the feed of the trimmer cord, no matter how many times I beat it the cord would not feed out but was able to pull it out by hand, this was not how it was designed to work.

Fits most trimmers. Works well. Time saver!

These are really hard to find in the UK - must be import duty from America that has made the supply dry up. A friendly helpful customer service call provided help with the size required. Prompt delivery.
