I used Mepiform over my, already healed, keloid scar that had been there for years. The scar had redness and stuck out significantly in areas. I have been embarrassed about it for so long. I put a strip of Mepiform on and was nervous so, only half a week later, I removed the tape. Actually my daughter took it off for me. My one daughter said that it looked better. The rest of my family was in shock. My one daughter was freaked and asked if it was legal and asked " Is it safe?" I hadn't seen it until after them. I have to tell you, I was quite surprised that such a simple thing could make it so much better. The redness was reduced and the scar was much better, smoother, and sticking up way less. It's like a miracle. I would recommend that you try this. I have sensitive skin and had no reaction. Anyone who has a scar that looks bad, a painful keloid scar, redness in a scar, bumpy or unusual textured scar, You need this! I applied it to a huge scar that was from multiple surgeries on my arm, broken in 3 places. That is the main reason I purchased it. The arm surgeon had claimed that it would not keloid. He was wrong. From the top of my arm/shoulder to almost my elbow is a mammoth scar. In my arm is a metal plate. Plus the stitches made me 26 small keloid baby scars down the edges. All painful and getting no better with time. Over a year later I was having physical therapy and my therapist had a strip on her arm. I asked what it was. She said that her Dr. told her to wear it to prevent bad scarring. I have suffered so long with a growing scar and complaining to my Dr. every visit. He never once mentioned it.
