When you need it, you really need it
We got a second cassette for our Thetford cassette toilet as a backup, in case our first cassette breaks, or we fill up our first cassette and don't have a dump option nearby. I know a lot of people with our model of motorhome have a second cassette, and reportedly very few of them have ever used it. But we got one anyway, because this is one backup that you really, really don't want to be without in an emergency.When we first ordered our second cassette, it arrived with a broken, umm, input valve. The box it arrived in was not very sturdy and contained basically no packing material, so I would not be surprised to see a cassette to get damaged during transit. We returned it, and the replacement unit we received seems to be in reasonable shape. I would urge customers to check the cassette, i.e. actually use it, to ensure that it is usable.Otherwise, while I have concerns about the overall design of the Thetford system (e.g. ventilation seems to be a common issue), I'm assuming anyone who orders this is ordering a replacement or a backup for an existing toilet, and so is interested mainly in the quality of the unit as a backup cassette rather than a review of the system overall. As such, I'll rate this 4 stars, but if I were looking at the system as a whole, it might have been lower.

Check/Tighten Screws Before Use
I bought this in the US. On first use, when I pulled it out to empty, it had leaked into the tank compartment. After googling it, I tightened all the screws available to tighten and so far seems to have resolved the issue.The Company should put a sticker on the product to tell folks to tighten screws before use.
