How do I clean this item? Can I wash it in my washing machine, then place it back in the container?

No. Do not wash it in the machine or else you will ruin it. A shammy is normally washed by sticking it to a window and hosing it down with water. Then you drain the water by rolling it and placing pressure on it. After your finish always put it back in its container for further drying.

Will it collect mold, fungus if stored wet on its case and not used for say one month, or better dry it before ?

No, if kept in shaded or dry area. I kept mine moist for three weeks in the trunk, and still wet, no fungus, mildew, or mold. Thanks for asking.

Premium price, poor performance

Premium price, poor performance. For the price I expected to perform better than a number of chamois I have. It doesn't.Its too grippy, holds too much moisture, making it hard to dry the vehicle, according to the instructions you have to leave it moist in the container it comes in so it doesn't dry out too much, this I did only to find on the second usage lots of red spots have appeared on the cloth which I assume is some sort of mold. £15 wasted. Back to my trusty chamois cloths.
