Make no mistake about it, this product will work with your older and newer Keurig machines!
This K-Cup is a great K-Cup for all you people who own a Keurig. K40 machine. My new keurig 2.0. Malfunctioned, so I went to Goodwill and I saw an older model keurig(k40) so I purchased it hoping I could use my K-Cup with this older model I purchased at Goodwill because I don't like the way my coffee comes out with the pods that you purchase in the store filled with coffee because it's too weak. So I was looking in Amazon for a compatible K-Cup that fit the K40 and they showed the Keurig K-Cup that looked like the ones I use that fits my malfunctioned Keurig 2.0 so it must be one designed to fit the K40 specifically I thought So I ordered it! It wasn't until today when I went to check my mail for my kcup and it hadn't arrived yet so out of frustration and being mad wishing it would hurry and get here so I could enjoy my coffee again is when I noticed a video in the product description that I hadn't seen before so I descided to watch it and I so glad I did!So the video shows a lady demonstrating this K-Cup used with my newly purchased but much older model keurig K-40 I found at Goodwill to take the place of my newer Keurig 2.0 (very clean in pristine condition) as I watched the video it shows her pulling out the K-40 models built in holder that holds the coffee pods then this is where the video became very clear to me.... it showed her taking the Grey tab off the K-kup then sitting in the place where she took the built in pod holder out and placed the kcup into the machine! So after that I got to the part of the video where she stated "Attention Keurig 2.0 owners DO NOT remove the Grey tab"! That's when I had my wake up moment, my uh-huh moment, that's where I went wrong and unnecessary went without my coffee for a solid week I wasn't assembling things right. When they say advertise these K- cups as universal, they weren't kidding! it. I was not paying attention I guess or doing enough research. Anyways, I immediately went to work and I brewed my first cup of coffee with my new yet much older machine and let me tell you, the Keurig K40 brews a much better cup of coffee using these K cups than my newer model did. Not a joke. I give this product a five star review. Unfortunately, I have several of them kicking around so I don't need anymore do I'll return this one and receive a credit for something else but I just wanted to share this review with anyone who might be in my situation or similar to mine! Had this jcup came in the mail on time I might have not found this video out of frustration so I guess like the saying goes everything happens for a reason!FYI. for all of you who might like your 12-16ounce cup of coffee strong like I do then start brewing your coffee in 4ounce incrimints and pull your coffee cup out and put something in it's place to catch the remaining hot watered down coffee!! Continue doing it this way and with every 4ounce brew cycle to get you to the 12 or 16 ounce cup of coffee! Remember you also need to fill the K-cup with coffee everytime you select the 4ounce brew as well! This is how you can get to your personal desired strength. It works great this way! Works well: This product very much is a universal product and it does work with all Keurig models I might add.

Works PERFECTLY for making a single cup of Yerba Mate from loose ground yerba mate leaf bits!
I wish this was all metal. Just because i'd like to avoid plastics, BUT... overall, this works REALLY well. I use it to make Yerba Mate one cup at a time. It does a GREAT job. I always makes sure it's dumped/rinsed every time i use it, and it stays free-flowing. Only took about 3 uses to develop a ritual for efficient use. Well designed. Functions very well. A couple other reviews seemed to complain about the lid not fitting on well, or to be careful. I finde if you just make sure you push the cap on snugly until you FEEL it seat 100% of the way, and THEN twist the cap to lock it, you'll have great luck. I think maybe people were expecting the twisting of the cap to pull the strainer basket into place. But that's not how the design works. Always make sure to push the strainer basket ALL the way into the cap -- which you can SEE and FEEL - and THEN twist the cap on to the lock position. Works perfect every time. Seals fine. Enjoy! This is great value for the money. I haven't tried it with coffee grounds yet, but i can already tell it's going to work well.

Great product
I picked on of these up because our Keurig didn't come with one and I didn't want to be limited to only having to use the expensive pods. It's durable and holds plenty of grounds. No issues if you pay attention to how to assemble it. My 80 yr old mother had problems locking the lid on correctly, so there is a learning curve but even an old gal can learn new tricks and she hasn't complained about it after a mini lesson or two. ;)

No Better Than Third Party Products
So I am comparing this product to another I purchased on Amazon, the CASABREWS stainless steel replacement K-Filter. That was priced at $15 but you received two. So you could at least fill two filters and brew two cups back to back. So that has some advantages. The other advantage to the CASABREWS filters is that they require less fiddling since they have strict applications. In my case, I have the Kuerig 2.0 machine. The top cap comes off of the CASABREWS, you fill up the the filter to the top line, place the cap over the top and line up the marker on the cap facing down, i.e. 6 O'clock. The coffee tastes great but you have residual coffee grinds on the bottom of the cup.So now I can compare the official Kuerig product to that. The Kuerig is a universal product but even once you set it up for your Kuerig maker, it still takes a few more steps, such as unlocking the top cap, filling the filter with coffee, placing and locking the cap. So what are the disadvantages with this product? Well, you only get one filter and while the coffee still taste good but no better than the CASABREWS, I still found residual coffee grinds on the bottom of the cup. That is why I wanted to try this product to see if it would eliminate the coffee grinds on the bottom of the cup. If you don't find this on sale like I did, then it is an average product. You also have to take some care and not twisting to hard when locking the top cap or you can damage the filter.

works flawlessly in Keurig K-Cafe SMART
It works very well in my Keurig K-Cafe SMART. Does not spill or anything. Even the machine recognizes it as a reusable K-cup. Of course it's not as easy to use as regular K-cups but I have a lot of ground coffee I need to use up so that's why I bought this. It is not that easy to fully clean out all the coffee grounds from the mesh thing, but it's ok since you're just going to fill it back up with coffee grounds the next day again.
