Q: Is there a trick on how to open the arm part? I and my hubby has tried n tried. I don’t want to break it.

GRIP IT AND RIP IT! It will swing out from the bottom with an oversized pull. After I got mad enough to really pull it out, it works and didn't break.

Q: Does this take fiskars replacement blades?

Sorry, this paper cutter do not match fiskars replacement. We have our own blade and you can find it by search our brand.

A search for "Firbon Blade" on Amazon returns a 5-pack of Firbon replacement blades for $9.99.

The unit comes with a blade. The blade is long lasting; I've used the original blade for almost a year. Replacement blades re available.
