Great for tablets and ipads
I got this stand for my daughter and her iPad pro 12.9 and she loves it. She set it up in her room and she said its great for doing her homework as you can see in the photos. I've used it as well while cooking and I love this thing I'm going to get the S series as I believe this is the s1. It's sturdy even with the case on it sits in the grooves well, it adjust very well in different positions and holds steady.

Very Bouncy - Beware
Just received the stand today, and immediately put it to use. It's very nicely made, seems sturdy and well crafted. I'm using it with my 3rd gen ipad pro plus a case, and it fits in the stand fine. One problem for me though...it's very bouncy. I don't mean it's unsteady from the standpoint that it will fall over or the tablet will fall out of the stand...I see no problem with that at all. However, every time you touch the screen, ever so gently, it starts to bounce/wobble. If you were to try to type on the keyboard, for example, it would be maddening. I'm using it to hold my tablet while using a mobile gaming app, and there's no way that I could do what I want to do while in the stand. If you just want to browse the web, watch a movie, check email...I think it would be hard to find a better cost/benefit solution. Just beware of the bounce, whether in the case or our of the case, landscape or portrait...it will bounce aggressively like a bobble-head doll.

Horizontal stability with larger tablets
This stand works well enough that I don't need to return it. The swivel is tight enough for my needs, the non-slip pads are grabby enough, the fit is pretty good, the finish had only a few small flaws that most people wouldn't even notice. But I do have to be somewhat careful with it. The biggest strike against this stand is that the foot at the bottom is simply too narrow from side to side to truly handle a 8-inch or larger tablet in landscape mode without being fairly easy to tip over to one side or the other when handled. If all you do is leave this in one place and always use your device from the front (or strictly in portrait mode) that may not be a big deal. If your work space is slightly crowded and you need to reach around the tablet/stand fairly often, there's a good chance it's going to take a spill at some point. That may be the only thing I can really complain about, but given that this stand's only job is to prop up what to most of us is a rather expensive piece of kit in a safe and stable fashion, that instability is worth a couple of stars.

Pretty nice but not quite right for 12.9" iPad Pro
Took a chance on this stand for my 12.9" iPad Pro due to manufacturer stating it would be acceptable in a horizontal orientation via the question/answers section. The stand arrive in good shape, and is attractive and well made. The bumpers work well to protect your desk surface, and the are also effective at protecting your iPad. Adjustment mechanism works well, and holds tight. So far, so good. The issue is instability when typing near the top of my 12.9" iPad; there is wobble and vibration that I feel is less than acceptable. The culprit is not the pivot, which is rock solid, but rather the lack of stiffness of the foot/arm portion of the stand. It is just too flexible to properly keep the heavier 12.9" iPad from moving due to inputs to the screen. It won't fall off, but it is distracting while trying to work and/or typing into address bars, etc. I also have a 10.5" ipad pro and it works perfect for that device.So... if all you need is a stand to hold your larger iPad 12.9" to view movies/youtube, etc, then this stand will do. But if you need to do work on your iPad 12.9" that requires continuous input from your finger or Apple Pencil, then I think a better solution might be in order.

Too Light But Otherwise Great
These are great except for the fact that they are too light. I have two of them that I use with my 10.5" iPad Pro's. I use them with Leather Smart Covers on them and it works well with the covers on.The only negative for me is that they are too light and they bounce around a bit and sometimes slide backwards. I would pay more for a much heavier version.Other products pictured that I recommend:• Adjustable standing/sitting desk: Crank Adjustable Sit to Stand Up Desk with Heavy Duty Steel Frame (60", Silver Frame/Black Top) • Motion Sensor USB Rechargeable Lights: Wardrobe Light, OxyLED Motion Sensor Closet Lights, 20 LED Under-Cabinet Lightening, USB Rechargeable Stick-on Stairs Step Light Bar, LED Night Light, Safe Light with Magnetic Strip, 3-pack, T-02U • Audioengine A5+ Premium Powered Speaker Pair (Carbonized Solid Bamboo) • Audioengine S8 Black 8-inch Powered Subwoofer • Audioengine Desktop Speaker Stands: Audioengine DS2 Desktop Speaker Stands (Pair) • Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad - US EnglishCrank Adjustable Sit to Stand Up Desk with Heavy Duty Steel Frame (60", Silver Frame/Black Top)Wardrobe Light, OxyLED Motion Sensor Closet Lights, 20 LED Under-Cabinet Lightening, USB Rechargeable Stick-on Stairs Step Light Bar, LED Night Light, Safe Light with Magnetic Strip, 3-pack, T-02UAudioengine A5+ Premium Powered Speaker Pair (Carbonized Solid Bamboo)Audioengine S8 Black 8-inch Powered SubwooferAudioengine DS2 Desktop Speaker Stands (Pair)Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad - US English
