Update** I now own 2 of the 120sets, 1 of the 180sets 1 of the 72sets and the 180set of watercolor pencils and ALL OF THEM ARE FANTASTIC!! The blending, smooth coverage, easy sharpening without breakage, solid thick core that also don’t break. The tin they come in are all perfect for long term storage and use of these pencils and they are beautifully laid out by chromatic order(each manufacturer does this slightly differently) making finding colors very easy. They also work well in the zipper pencil cases you can buy if you want, I have done that for 2 sets to repurpose the tins for watercolor tubes and acrylic tubes of paint to keep them organized and safe so that’s another fantastic thing about these sets, the gorgeous sturdy tins they include!!I seriously can’t recommend these enough. They are vibrant and cover an extremely large color range including metallics and pastels which is usually not the case with these large sets.If you take anything from my review remember this, hey are budget priced pencils with near professional results! These layer amazingly well and that is how you want to blend, by layering them. I really don’t think you will regret this purchase at all!! EVEN THE WHITE IS GOOD! Great for highlights!! I could keep going but I want this to be readable…..ok now for the original review belowI have been using this set for a little over a week now and am very pleased with the results. I find the pigments lay down extremely smooth, almost buttery some colors are so soft. Its a very enjoyable experience. The colors are very Rich, Saturated and Smooth,just from burnishing with the pencil itself without using additional solvents, however you may use solvents if you prefer. The color range of this set is wide enough to cover just about anything you would want to create from Landscapes and Still Life’s to Portraits and whatever else you dream up. I found a decent selection of pastel colors in the range which is something I appreciate very much especially in what many might consider a “bargain set”. I would definitely agree the price is a real bargain but the quality of these pencils is near that of Prismacolor in my testing, some shades even performed better in my opinion which was to me very impressive. Let’s talk about the packaging, also very impressive. The matte black tin is deep and each layer has a handle on each side of the tray to easily access the layers below of which there are 3 layers in total. This box is the perfect long term storage solution for these pencils and works perfectly to transport the set with you if you wanted to make art somewhere other than your studio.((I adhered the included foam padding to the lid to maintain firm pressure on the pencils to keep them entirely in place while transporting but it isn’t necessary to do so))I would absolutely suggest this set to many levels of artists from beginner\hobbyist to advanced artists alike and it is certainly a fantastic large scale base set to expand on as well. If you are considering this purchase, you wont be disappointed.

My name is Amazon Shopper and I am a colored pencil addict. I have budget & artists, no name & big name artist sets including CaranDache, Polychromos, Prisma, every Derwent set, and many more. I only mention those brands because I know a quality artist pencil are much nicer to work with. Almost all reviews I read and watched on YouTube regarding these square Brutfuners had nothing but good things to say about these and I agree.They are soft and bendable with most colors laying down a fair amount of pigment for a bargain brand. Despite being square they feel like any other pencil in your hand and I haven’t had any problems sharpening to a nice point. Only issue I have is the point as well as the pencil have a very short life since they are so soft. My answer to that problem was to buy another set. The colors are lovely and bright and work well together. 120 pencils for under $25, used coupon, highly recommend you add these to your big or small collection of color pencils, you won’t be disappointed. What is there about these pencils? They seem to be a terrible temptation!My set came through in almost perfect shape except one pencil had been used...not very much, but it had been used. At first I thought the tip was chipped, but upon close inspection, it had been used just enough to be obviously a little shorter than its brothers and sisters. Not a loss to me, but looking at so many other reviews, I can't help but wonder what standards prevail in the warehousing of these. I guess it shows how popular they are!They are really lovely and I will get a lot of use out of them. They have a nice range of colors and are very smooth and pleasant to use. They are worth a try for sure. I may even order a second set...maybe the 72 version when the price drops a bit.Dropped one star based on 'used' factor only.

These were recommended to me by an Artist YouTuber and Im in love with them. For the price point and Quality of these pencils there exceptionally good and great value for the money. Easy lay down of color and blend on paper very well. Very creamy and soft and comfortable to hold. surprisingly to me because there square but they are comfortable. The 120 set has a great shade range. There was only two pencils in the whole set I had an issue with and one was the white shade was very Scratchy and one of the pink shades the tip broke while in first time use and Im extremely light handed. In my opinion I believe the pink shade was broken when I received it in transit and snapped on first use. Theres always a few Duds in any set you buy. Also when I first received my tin of 120 I believed I was missing pencils because there was multiple empty spaces in the trays but when I counted all the pencils out I had all 120 pencils with 40 counted per tray per 3 trays in the 120 set adding up to 120 so please count your pencils before complaining.The trays themselves are cheaply made but the tin case seem good quality. One con is there color names are in Chinese and the letters and numbers are metallic and hard to see and the print is small. I found the names on youtube and added them to the sheet that came in the tin myself. I am only missing two or three names otherwise I’m extremely happy with my purchase and highly recommend these pencils 5 stars and I plan to buy two more sets for my sister and an extra set for myself just to have extra shades. I’m very happy with my purchase so far so great in and at this price point.
