Nach langer Recherche haben wir uns endlich für diese Klappe entschieden. Unsere Kriterien waren: Zugdichtigkeit und leichte Bedienbarkeit auch für Katzen. Die Klappe scheint wirklich recht zugdicht zu sein. Derzeit ist sie noch provisorisch in ein einfach verglastes Kellerfenster eingebaut, aber vor dem Winter wird dieses gegen ein dreifach verglastes Fenster ersetzt. Hierfür werden wir dann eine zweite Klappe bestellen und diese beiden Klappen hintereinander bauen, so daß eine - hoffentlich - halbwegs isolierende Luftschicht zwischen den Klappen entsteht. Die Hunde haben die Klappe schnell kapiert und auch die Katzen, die bisher übliche Katzenklappen kannten, haben sich innerhalb eines Tages an die neue große Klappe (Größe L) gewöhnt. Bis zum Herbst wird allen die Funktion so vertraut sein, daß auch die Verdoppelung kein Problem sein wird. Im Gegensatz zu anderen hochwertigen Klappen ähnlicher Bauart ist der Magnet für Katzen gut zu öffnen und schließt dennoch die Klappe gut ab. Es handelt sich um einen Magnetstreifen über die ganze Länge der unteren Seite und keine einzelnen Magneten, die in anderen Klappen viel zu stark für Katzen sind. Die teilweise monierten Plastikschrauben erfüllen ihren Zweck sehr gut: man kann sie nach dem Einbau auf die exakte Länge abzwicken, so daß es keine Verletzungsgefahr durch herausstehende "Spieße" für die Tiere gibt. Außerdem bilden sie keine Wärmebrücke zwischen außen und innen, wie es bei Metallschrauben der Fall wäre. Bei uns ist nach oben nicht genug Platz, um die Dichtungsscheibe einzuschieben, deshalb haben wir die Scheibe einfach in zwei Teile gesägt und können sie nun hintereinander einschieben. Durch die Verriegelung am oberen Ende ist das Ganze dann auch fest verschlossen - für den Fall, daß das mal notwendig sein sollte.

acquistata dopo averne provate almeno 3 da fissare alla porta zanzariera del mio ingresso principale, vi lascio immagginare che dopo pochi giorni la zanzariera cedeva e anche le porticine non erano di grande sostanza: a quetso punto ho deciso di modificare la parte inferiore della porta sostituendo la zanzariera con un supporto rigido a cui ho fissato questa bellissima porta che fa egregiamente il suo dovere, è robusta, la parte mobile è eccezionale sia nella tenuta e flessibilità e la parte magnetica ancora perfettamente il tutto, la struttura in alluminio è resistentissima e gli spifferi sono quasi inesistenti. Ho dovuto mettere uno spessore in legno per ancorare il tutto ma sono molto contento del prodotto e della sua funzionalità basta avere un po di dimestichezza nel fai da te e i ottiene un ottimo risultato.

This is the best dog door I've ever bought (we've had a couple of others previously - they were ok, but not as good as this one]. Why? This one was was slightly cheaper than the last one I bought a few years ago; it looks tidy and I think it will stay that way for a long time, because the frame is painted aluminium - not plastic - and it's robust and well-made, and the bits and pieces inside are completely covered with the frame; the flap is flexible, quiet and appears to have a good, strong magnet to keep it closed [although it may blow open slightly if the weather was very windy...but not so far; it's easy to clean and comes up a treat each time; the cover is strong and includes a 'locking' nut, to keep it closed [has to be pulled out from the inside to allow you to slide the cover off]; inevitably, a few hairs collect on the draught-proofing fluffy strip down each side of the opening, but they're very easy to remove. I don't know how easy it was to fit, as it was done by the chap who fitted our new, double glazed door, and he didn't comment, but did it pretty quickly.
