Best stuff out there
I love this stuff. All natural, I like the smell, and I'm not putting who knows what mystery chemicals straight onto my skin. The kids and I are mosquito magnets (not the wife though) and this stuff just works. I can vouch for how well it works on scouting trips in tick infested forests. Been buying this stuff for years. A spray bottle lasts a long time and we just keep one in each car so we are never caught unprepared. And I cannot stress enough how much I actually like the smell of this stuff since every other mosquito repellent smells so bad I just want to shower.

Effective
Painters unfortunately left the screen door open while they worked (Why?!) and let in bugs who subsequently feasted on me freely. Deet can't be used indoors -directions say to shower to wash it off after returning indoors. This stuff saved me. I put it on everyday until the bitey flying beasts died off (about two weeks!) and that prevented additional bites. Highly recommend.

No bites!
This is the second year I've taken this on our family trip to TN. Everyone else breaks out the deet and other bug sprays and we just use this and have no issues. My hubby didn't wear any and he was the only one that got a ticks on him twice. It smells a bit strong when you first apply but then is pleasant enough after it's dried on your skin and clothes. It does not stain and I even spray the kids hair and it doesn't make it sticky. It works great!

Not to be used directly on skin or animals. Not helpful for flea protection on dogs.
I purchased this product for use on my dog to prevent insect bites. After purchase I noticed the EcoSmart web site no longer sells the item and it apparently has been discontinued. The EcoSmart web sites now clearly states that the product is not to be applied directly to the skin or to any animal. So, if you are purchasing this for direct topical application, be aware that this product is no longer being produced or made for that purpose.

Works for me, but YMMV
My friends have always joked that they invite me to all their outdoor parties because the mosquitos swarm to me and leave them alone. DEET works great, but it's not safe and I've had little luck with other 'natural' repellents. Well, I used this product all last summer and was very happy with the protection. I will definitely use it this summer as well. It loses one star only because it smells very strong when you apply it and you definitely don't want to breathe it in. I have applied it to my clothes many times and have never had any problems with the fabrics. You may notice in the ratings that there are no middle scores; it either works for you or it doesn't. As a biologist, I will point out that, while scientists don't know exactly how it works yet, mosquitos identify targets at least partly by smell. Because each of us has individual body chemistries, some of us apparently secrete combinations of chemicals that smell more 'appetizing' to mosquitos than other people. Essential oil sprays such as this product are believed to work, at least partially, by covering up certain human scents. HOWEVER, they won't cover up every possible chemical, and mosquitos will therefore still be able to detect some individuals. So everyone is right; it works great for some of us but not at all for others. The good news is, even if this product is a bust for you, it is still worth checking out other essential oil preparations. You should be able to find one that will work for you!UPDATE: Six years later, I still use this stuff religiously and avoid ~100% of mosquito bites in the early summer. However, in the past few years, a noticeably different species of mosquito has arrived during the later part of the summer, and this type is significantly less discouraged by the EcoSmart (they even bite when you use DEET, although at a lower frequency).

Ecosmart and a effective repellent to be sure.
This EcoSmart Organic Insect repellent is smart all the way around. I am impressed with it's efficacy; everything including mosquitoes, fleas, ticks and the miserable bull knatts. The nice thing is that I can put it on my face to keep the mosquitoes at bay. Although the repellent doesn't last as long as those with deet in them, I find that it's longevity is about 4-6 hours in hot sweaty temperatures in South West Oklahoma. I find that there are areas of my skin which react to it. Namely the sensitive skin areas opposite of the elbow and neck. It is a warming feeling which goes away after a few minutes. I would urge caution when applying it to children as the warming sensation might be a little much. The sprayer pump is smart as well. It only puts out a little at a time and you can compensate by rapidly pressing the pump. That keeps a continuous cover on my skin. Or you can pump it into your hand and apply it that way. Yup, it is just as effective as Off or Cutler but its ingredients are made from herbs. I hope it does for you what it has done for my family.

The product works well
While I love this product and it works well for green heads, the four bottle I ordered had labels hanging off and there were only 3 caps.

No scent or stickiness!
NO offending SCENT or stickiness! Safe for pets and children. Truly works! Do not stain clothes. The best part...... A promising solution for people who are skin and/or chemical-sensitive. A must-have product for individuals who suffer allergic reactions to mosquitoes.
