Ok so here it is again... has this item been revised (2018) to fit 5 gal buckets from home depot and lowe's?

I bought mine in the Spring of 2018, and ironically tried to use it in a Home Depot "Homer Bucket", 5 gallon container. It would not rest on the bottom of the bucket. I was able to position it to be level, but they should redesign this product to fit the generic 5 gal. container.

Will this fit the Pepboy's 5-gallon red bucket?

I don't know, but it doesn't fit home depots.

what is the purpose of this product?

This is placed at the bottom of your rinse bucket and helps create a safer washing method that will reduce the chance of inducing swirls and scratches.
