'The Sun and Her Flowers' is a marvelous and astonishing read, it is jam-packed with numerous animations and illustrations which enables the reader to visualize their own journey in something called `life`. Moreover, it presents vividly several themes including: trauma, loss, abortion, love etc that will capture the readers eyes in no-time as we have all undertaken English Literature/Language, its very similar to the poems we all encounter and endure as part of our academic studies. I highly endorse it to the readers and possibly include this book as part of the school curriculum education system across the globe as it does mention and talk about immigration too which I strongly believe needs to be taught to raise awareness and to just simply heal individuals. A must have for anyone who loves poetry and narrative therapy.

What I like about the book is her honesty that comes through her poems that are so gut wrenchingly honest and pure that your heart literally goes out for her. Anybody who has been through any kind of low like being abused, and being heart broken will find solace in her poems. This is my first Poetry book I have read, after my schooling.so I was a bit apprehensive about reading poetry that has me reaching for a dictionary and where the teacher used to break down sentences while you were in a school. Luckily that wasn’t the case here as her poems are so simple that it leaves an indelible impression on your soul. “trust your body it reacts to right and wrong better than your mind does”-Rupi Kaur “I do not need the kind of love That is draining I want someone Who energises me “ – Rupi Kaur I read this book in Jan,but I couldn’t bring myself to write a review as I was speechless as to how some one can convey so much in a mere sentences still trumps me. No wonder Ms kaur has Million followers on Instagram Account. This amazing book of poems takes the reader through 5 different stages people go through before they bloom into their highest version of themselves,such as Wilting,falling,to take root,rise and blooming ..just like flowers…there are others poems about the one,the right kind of love and what love looks like etc that will leave you dumbstruck and in awe of Rupi Kaur. The layout of the book is simple and her own illustrations add more depth to her poems. Advice to my fellow readers:please buy print version bcz you need to catch your breath after being hit by such profound words….and reading print book gives you time to reflect and let those words sink into your pyche and let your mind wander and wonder. Poetry was the only genre missing in my reading list & thanks to Rupi I seem to have fallen in love with poetry and hopefully this will effect my reading choices in future too. This was the first book I read in 2018 and it was such a beautiful way to start new year I guess. Do read this book of poems that will touch your soul and also heal and nourish a part of your soul that only beautiful poetry can fill. Read it ,it will heal your wounds.
