Entertaining and Educational
Arabian Nights My 6 year old was hooked from the start. This version maintained the exotic flavor of the original while presenting the stories in a child friendly phrasing. I have read the full version and love it, but the language is sometimes too elaborate and complex for a child. This is written perfectly for kids. The narrator has a nice voice, easy to listen to. Well done. The problem is that there are only 4 or 5 stories on this disc. Ali Baba and the 40 thieves being the only one everyone would recognize. The others are great stories I just don't know the names. I really really wish they would add book 2, 3, 4 etc. Yes it does recommend going to the library to get the book to read more stories, and we probably will find a kid friendly book version. However we are in the car a lot and want to listen to books as we travel. This CD lasted about an hour I believe. And WE WANT MORE!I am looking at other audio books of the Arabian Tales, so we can hear different stories but NONE of them list all the stories that are included on the disc.

Great for kids and adults!
I was utterly amazed by Jim Weiss's story telling abilities.Seriously, I'm a grown-ass man, and I've derived great pleasure from listening to these wonderful stories over-and-over again! My favorite is the last track / story, "The Fisherman and the Genie." "Alibaba and the Forty Thieves" is likewise wonderful. If you've got kids, you should stop reading this review; and, start buying this cd!!If you're an adult, with a lot of alone driving time, to and from work, etc.; you should likewise give this cd a try!!You will not regret the purchase!

Lots of Surprises
Stealing from robbers. Murdering. Some magic/ spells. This is just from two stories. I state this because some parents may not buy this due to these things.Jim Weiss is excellent in delivering the stories. Very engaging.I don't think this is going to be something our kids ask us to play for them.I don't want to focus much on stories where the guys who steal to further their own interests are rewarded or are heroes.Sherlock Holmes with Jim Weiss may be a better CD.

We love them
We have several of these cds and my children love them. Great for listening to on the way to hockey practice or whatever as they are short enough to finish the story in about 20 minutes or so.

Wide Appeal
I am an art teacher. While they work, I play instrumental music and stories for my students ages 10-14. Jim Weiss's Tales from the Arabian Nights was a big hit. The students were rapt with attention and asked to hear the stories again. I will be buying more of his CD's.

Just like childhood
all over again! Took forever to find the exact version of these wonderful stories I remember growing up with. As soon as I put this CD in I was immediately taken back to my familiar childhood happy place. :)

Wonderful!
My three and seven-year-old daughters beg to listen to this when we are in the car. The stories have been helpful in inspiring my girls toward increased interest in geography studies of Arab countries and cultures. I highly recommend this recording.

Not up to Jim's best.
I don't feel this is one of his best story tales, but not too bad.
