Surprisingly good antenna considering there's no stinger. Helps to have local repeater nearby. Takes the pain out of removing antennas completely for the car wash.

This is a wonderfully made antenna, works on both UHF/VHF, but with the wave length cut down so far, you do give up some reception/transmission distance. Probably best used when mounting on a roof of a truck or SUV.

Was looking for a low profile dual band antenna and thought myself lucky to have found this one on Amazon. While it is what I was looking for it does not perform very well. The UHF portion seems to operate fair but the VHF side is a complete disappointment. I have a VHF phantom from Laird and did some direct comparisons. Local repeater was half scale and with this antenna I could not even bring up the machine.

Works great for my scanner as long as I am in town, I have used it on my dual band Ham rigs and have had about the same results Just note that this is essentially an zero gain antenna, and as such does not have the range for other than in town near visible communications. for my use though on my scanner it works well and is unobtrusive

Just the right size no more broken off antennas due to drive thru carwashers

Not so great performance. Bought this for a friend who is just looking for a covert look. That's about all it's good for. The rx & tx performance on both 2 meter and 70cm bands is not very good at all.
