Now Designs Stoneware Square Butter Dish with Lid, Lemon Yellow 4.5 x 4.5 in

This is a great, well-made ceramic butter dish! It neatly holds 2 halves of a regular sized butter stick. It does not take up a lot of space and looks great in my kitchen matching my white cabinets. If you want a nice, compact butter dish, don’t pass this one up!

This is smaller than I thought but it works fine and looks SO pretty on my kitchen counter. I use a lot of Irish butter and they are oblong.....like two sticks of regular butter together. They don't fit but I just cut one in half, put it in this cute butter dish and all works fine. I can keep some out on the counter to stay soft for toast and such and keep the rest in the fridge until I'm ready to put it in there. I got the red and have already had compliments on "that cute butter dish".

This is absolutely perfect for a 1/2-stick butter dish. We are currently living in an RV with limited counter space and this fits perfectly. We were using a plate with stretch-wrap. Not a good look and the plate took up a lot of room. Could not be happier with this purchase except for the fact that choosing the color was difficult. Ended up with the light blue/green and it blends in nicely.

If you buy the shorter, fatter "western" stick of butter, this dish will NOT fit an entire stick without multiple cuts. Perhaps I could be convinced to cut a stick in half, but who wants to puzzle a stick of butter into the dish each time? Don't be misled! The dimensions provided are for the outer edges of the base, not for the usable area. The area that fits under the lid, which holds the butter is only ~2.5" x 2.5". Providing the dimensions of the lid would probably have eliminated the confusion (OUTER edges of lid are 3.5" x 3.5").I love the color (eggshell) and the quality seems great; however, it is too small to be useful. I really was excited to receive this, and was disappointed in myself for misreading the dimensions (I even measured my butter before purchasing!). Perhaps it would work for a single person who needs only use a half stick of butter at a time. It really is adorable and a space-saver. However, I don't see this working for my family of five.

Love this little butter dish. Doesn't take up much space on the counter. Cleans up well in the dishwasher.

This is a lovely product, but there is a piece of information missing.The exterior of the dish is indeed 4.5" x 4.5".However, the USABLE interior space is only:2 & 5/8" x 2 & 5/8".So it did not fit what I was shooting for, as I wanted something for a European style vegan butter.Just an FYI for those to whom it might matter. It is lovely otherwise.

The color was a very pale yellow, ...not what I was looking for. The picture made it look a much richer color.Also, there were many imperfections.I thought the small, square shape, was very cute.Bottom line; I was disappointed in the quality, and lack of color.

Works for half sticks of butter.

Our old butter dish was rectangular like most are, but we never used the full length of it. In Canada we don't have conventional U.S. sticks of butter, but rather larger 2 cup blocks. This dish is square, so we can easily cut off a 1" square slice segment of butter which lies perfectly in the dish with room to spare so it doesn't touch the sides of the lid making it messy, it also fits better on our counter where space is always tight. The color is bright and cheerful and the lid has the little knob to easily lift it up which is also a very nice touch. Would easily buy another one in the future as a gift!

Pros: Good quality, dishwasher safe, looks greatCons: much smaller than describedWhen ordering this product I looked carefully at the measurements as I wanted to get a dish that suited the size of a standard square 500g packet of Australian butter, however when this arrived it barely fits a quarter of that... still a good product but I wish the listed dimensions were more accurate. I guess I'll just quarter my butter as I need it.

Very cute, retro design and look to this butter dish; I like that one can store 1/4 of a block of butter, and it doesn't take up much space. It's pretty enough for company and goes with many dishes. The colour is very much like a lemon, in my opinion, certainly not as dark as mustard. The size is incorrectly described on this site, however. I reported that some time ago, and it has still not been changed. It is 4 1/2 inches square and 3 1/2 inches tall. The knob is large enough to grasp easily.I wanted red but was unwilling to pay more than double the price just for that colour. Yellow is beautiful, and I'm very pleased with it. The 1/4 block of butter does fit, just barely. Some reviewers think it's too tight a fit, but cut from the edge for the first serving, and there's no further problem. I love the look and find the size just right. It can go in the dishwasher, too.
