Yes, our push open latch with magnet force can work well for a drawer with soft close system.

Q: What is the purpose of the round white threaded and slotted part?

The clear/white plug looking piece is for specifically installing these into particle board, which doesn’t hold screws very well. This piece helps hold the screw, but if you are screwing into solid wood or plywood it is not needed.

Q: What are the dimensions of the latch itself, width length depth? I'm not sure how this will fit inside my non-Ikea 'framed' cabinets. Thanks!.

The cabinet doors that I installed it on are very similar to shaker styled doors. I believe it will work on any doors, even glass doors. The important part is having enough room inside the cabinet to mount the device.
