Great for watercolor! Gouache? Eh.
First off, I’m a hobbyist and I initially bought these to use with my gouache and acrylic gouache to prevent mess with my more expensive brushes. Anddd, they’re pastel and cute (okay, maybe that’s the main reason, because I really have no business buying more brushes). Here’s my observations—Watercolor: Pretty darn good! They held a good amount of water and was very pleased with how long I was able to work with them before needing more paint.Gouache: This is where the bad is. I felt these brushes picked up a LOT of the paint while mixing, but didn’t deposit the paint on the paper well at all, requiring so much water to the point of watering down my gouache in order to get smooth lay down—almost like a sponge. And for this reason, I think they’re more suited for watercolor and I’ll continue to use them as such.Obviously, they won’t have the same durability and precision in the long run you’d have with kolinsky brushes, for example, but I didn’t buy them with that intention anyways. These are great for beginners (in watercolor) or anyone who wants to add more brushes to the mix, especially ones that are cute! In my experience, I feel like they’d cause more frustration for beginners to gouache and I wouldn’t want these brushes to deter someone away from the medium, so I would stick with mainly using them with watercolor. Just my two cents though! They’re fairly priced enough that you can try em for yourself :)

I'm amazingly surprised 😮
Now I haven't had the chance to use the two bigger brushes but pretty sure they are going to follow suit with the smaller ones. These are my favorite brushes! I thought when I bought them I was probably going to have disappointment but I loved their bright yellow (favorite color) and the box is absolutely adorable and felt that alone was something I needed. But these brushes have out performed some of my expensive ones.I use them for watercolor and can say they hold a good amount of water and are shaped perfectly. I have not had any loose bristles. Seems like I only paint with these SWEET brushes. I absolutely love them and at $10 bucks everyone should give these guys a try. Princeton~Watch out!!!

Good synthetic brushes, and cute too!
These brushes work really well with the HIMI Gelly Gouache set that I got. They hold only a little more water than standard synthetic brushes, so I don't recommend them for watercolor. For gouache and acrylic paint though, they're perfect. The hairs are perfectly aligned and hold a great point. None of them stuck out after I washed and used them, and the handles clean up very easily. My only complaint is that the handle is loose on the No. 10 brush. For the advertisement as watercolor brushes and the loose handle, I gave this 4 stars instead of 5. But otherwise, they're great synthetic brushes with nice long handles.

As expected. Nice packaging
These are very pretty and have nice packaging. They don't hold a lot of water so I wouldn't do professional art with them, but they work for fun personal stuff.

Purchased for gouache
I purchased these brushes to paint with gouache. I don’t want to use my good watercolor brushes in any material other than watercolor pigment.
