A magnificent design, if carefully installed
There's very little to dislike about this handlebar, aside from the importance of careful installation. I read/saw reviews of these here before installing and was careful about prep and also correct bolt torques. I used traction paste on the bars (sort of like a paste with little grit particles in it), and did a tiny amount of micro-shaping on the sharp square edges of the handlebar flanges in my stem. Just a little round off filing of those knife-edge stem flanges, where the stem edge can make a stress point for the handlebar if left there.I was delighted at being able to run my cables inside the bar, for a clean, sleek custom look. Again though, I did have to invest in a little cable/magnet tool here on Amazon, for guiding the leader thru the bar each time.I just love the ergonomics of this bar. At first I didn't fully comprehend, the key advantage of the bar's flat section. If one takes the time and effort to exactly position the brifters, you'll find you can literally use those flats as integrated 'highway bars' - without the weight and dorky look of those sticking out on your bike. It's a little cramped shoulder-spacing-wise when using them this way; but then so are highway bars. This handlebar is light as heck, but solid as a rock; and I've used it now for 6000 miles on my Aventon Soltera 7 which I converted into a road bike with this and a set of Shimano 2x7 brifters. Oh and the paint - glorious, brilliant in the sun, and supremely durable! Thanks for this wonderful product. I'd have paid twice as much or more - if knowing what I now know about how superior it is.

Great Value. Even Better Ride.
These bars are Great. So far I have 300+ miles on them. They feel great and are much nicer then the aluminum bars my bike came with. When on the drops, you can feel them ever so slightly bending to take up he shock when riding on a particular rough (cobble like) road during my weekly group ride. The flats have a slight angle to them that matches the natural bend of my writs. Also the area between the flats and leading up to the hoods also forms a comfortable shape for the meaty thumb area on your palm.Packing was well protected but difficult to unwrap, as if they employed a giant spider to wrap it in foam. Finish on the carbon is pretty good. The RXL SL is a decal or paint on top of the clear coat it can be removed but will take time. I had scratched some of it off to see but ended up being covered by bar tape. Normal bar tape plugs fit well and don't seem like they will work their way out. When running the cables be careful as there is unfinished carbon inside that will scratch your cables and housings. Also watch for splinters of carbon that might fall out if you have pets. If I were to do this again I would use old cable and housings to fish thru first then run the good cables. The shifter set used was a Shimano 105 5800 series and everything lined up pretty good. These are a great deal as similar name brand bars are over $200. I will not hesitate in the future to buy products from this company. [Update Sept 04, 2019] Still doing great! Over 1000 miles on them. Some of the graphics are wearing off due to use. But still taking a beating.

Stiff, Comfortable & Inexpensive
I did lots of research before purchasing these and was torn between the negative comments, but I went ahead and bought the handlebars anyways. First thing I noticed was how light these bars are, 91g lighter than my stock aluminum bars. Secondly, I had a smile ear to ear with the comfort of the bars which was my #1 reason for purchase. On long rides my stock bars made my thumbs fall asleep and would cause pain in the middle of my hands which is no good when you are on a week long tour. Thirdly was the price. Wow! How can you beat $40? These bars similar to Easton's are $350+...and there is the cool factor. I purchased the ones with no labels and have to say they look awesome. As for performance, I have logged about 80 miles climbing hills and the bars are solid. Little to no flexing anywhere I put pressure.

Great, but you get what you pay for..
Really nice bars, but had some hiccups with the install. I had the same issue as another customer where I couldn't get my levers past a bend in the bars where they were wider. I took a file and opened up the hole where the screw goes thru the lever ring and then no problems. Easy fix if you have a small file on hand. Also keep in mind that these will change your reach since they have a drop in the bar shape itself. Quality control could be better bc the bars are not 100 % true to shape. Mine were slightly warped where the left side was millimeters higher and farther forward than the right. Again, you get what you pay for and these are worth the minor defects if you're like me and can't swing $300+ to have carbon bars. I ride bumpy back roads and the difference bw these and my stock metal bars are night and day when it comes to hand vibrations. Last thing I'll say is don't push past the 4nm spec. These bars feel strong but others have cracked them by overtighting, so get a good calibrated torque wrench and take your time. Hope this helps someone else. Stay safe out there, everyone!

Heck yeah! Carbon for the poors!
25+ year road rider. I’m 5-9 and female. Got these 42’s mounted to replace aluminum non aero 44’s over the weekend and squared up my shoulders. So far so good. They look and feel great. Just a tiny bit of bounce smoothed out the ride a bit. Do it. $62? I’ll do it again in a second. I’m gonna get the matching carbon stem.
