3M Privacy Filter for 13" Macbook Pro with Retina Display 2012-2015 model (PFNAP004) Black

I recommend this product it was easy to place it on my laptop computer screen and it works exactly the way it says which is exactly what I want it. I wanted to keep those prying eyes out of my business thanks 3m great product

I love the reviews for this thing, as the expectations of the product are ridiculous. I have the brightness on my Mac set to about 75% and if I sit in a chair next to my own, I can't read an open email. If I lower the brightness to 50%, I can barely make out images, and at 25% I can barely see anything.

Definitely disappointed. I thought it would black out the whole screen if viewing from side angles but it doesn't. First off, you have to dim the screen pretty low for it to make it somewhat black. Even then you can still see the screen just a tad bit.Not pleased at all.

It had such great ratings I anticipated that it would do what it advertised, give privacy. However, it only blocks out your view at very severe angles (from either side) and does not provide any privacy from angles from above/looking down; anyone walking behind you or looking over your shoulder has a perfect view. Also, the installation is pathetic. The screen protector itself fits my screen fine but, the adhesive they give you to place it makes no sense for the dimensions of my laptop, they probably reuse them in many other products. Also, since when does the screen itself not have adhesive?? Since the dawn of smart phones the screen protector has adhesive on one side, not four to five pieces of double sided tape to install. This just seems very crudely put together, way too expensive and ultimately ineffective. Customers, if you are reading this I know I am a complete stranger to you and you really want to find a privacy protector but I you will be very disappointed if you settle on this, DO NOT BUY.

It's not an effective filter. People sitting next to me could still clearly see my screen it just made it a bit darker. I had to buy another brand that actually blacks out the screen at any angle except straight on.

The screen protector itself is just fine - the quality is consistent with what I'd expect from the 3M brand. It renders the display a little dimmer than normal, so you'll need to dial up the brightness from your normally preferred settings. The privacy is OK for the most part, sufficient enough to defeat the average shoulder surfer doing casual glances, but depending on the viewing angle and how hard you stare, you can make out images and text. If you're in need of greater security, then you might want to consider other products. (This is why I rated it only 4/5 stars.)Great product when paired with SpiShutter (which blocks camera for privacy). The SpiShutter is an excellent way to hold the 3M Privacy Screen Protector in place without the need for the adhesive strips that come with the screen protector. Also, the screen protector prevents the SpiShutter from accidentally scratching the monitor surface. I'm using the combination of SpiShutter and 3M Privacy Screen Protector on a MacBook Pro 13" w/ Retina Display and having no issues with machine closing or staying shut. Very pleased with this combination!

The screens really do filter so you cannot see what is on the screen unless in front of it. It is great for securing your screen from people passing by.

I had to have this for my nursing classes and it works so well. I forget that it's on my computer until I try to show someone sitting beside me something on my screen and they can't see anything!
