Review: Easy to carry with you one trips to water bodies - I really like the format and construction of these fold-out guides. They're quite thick and glossy, so should be ok with the odd raindrop. The illustrations are really clear and the additional notes are helpful. I do have an assortment of bird ID books but this is a nice lightweight reminder to stick in my bag. Clear viewable identification
Bought this whilst learning what birds were what whilst out around the bays in scotland. Nice and simple with just enough detail to aid you. Would recommend just as much as it was recommended to me.

Laminated card
This is not a book just a laminated card so it's a bit limited to what duck's you can identify

Useful, easy to use and extremely informative!
This is just a perfect reference sheet to identify all the ducks and swans on the river. So easy to use and full of information. The drawings are excellent. My grandchildren love using it instead of opening a book and wading through it. I strongly recommend this. Thank you.

Wonderful series, this one not useful for local lake
Beautiful clear illustrations as usual, I love this series and we have loads of them. I didn't find this particular one, 'ducks, geese and swans' as useful as some of the others though as we discovered all of the ducks on our local lakes, except mallards, must actually be domestic hybrids/escapees and therefore are not listed, other water birds aren't listed either. My kids were really excited holding the guide and shouting "quick what's that white one, oh it's not on there, what about that one with the yellow beak, nope it's not on there" and quickly lost interest and didn't want to use it again since. I think it should have been broader, if it covered all common waterside birds they would have ID'd a lot more. My kids are 3 and 8 and love the series generally, I would especially recommend the butterfly and ladybird ones. Be aware they are double sided pamphlets, a few pages long, not a book-ideal to slip in a rucksack for a walk and easy for kids to hold.
