Fits GE Opal Icemaker perfectly.
Definitely beats the “filter” that comes with the icemaker. By “filter” I mean the small plastic housing with a sst screen with small perforated holes. This new filter should eliminate microscopic particles and the chlorine taste.I’m already using an Aqua Rain water filter system, this should act as a double filter.Easy install. Follow the supplied instructions.12/15/23 update: this filter does eliminate the chlorine taste. Leaves a tasteless water. Thank you!

1 of three failed - so far
The first filter I tried soon caused the "no water error". Took me a while to figure it out, but apparently the new filter wasn't allowing water through. I could not manually blow air through that filter. The second filter seems to work, but I could easily blow air through it, which makes me question the filtering capabilities of the product. Once I switched it with the second filter, normal operation resumed.I use distilled water in my Opal 2.0 machine, so this is more of a backup in case trash or debris gets into the reservoir. Reading reviews more thoroughly now, this seemed to happen often enough that there is an entry in the FAQ to cover this problem.

Worst filters ever
I always buy generic filters for my pet water fountain and my Opal ice maker. This is the first time this has ever happened, but the construction of these filters makes it so they do not last, and frequently make the machine think there is no water. I think it is because the hole on the filter is smaller than on others. The one on the right is this one, the one on the left is another brand. The other brand lasts a month. This one struggles to last 3 weeks, and you have to mess with it a bunch to get it put in just right in the first place or else your machine will say "Add water" because the hole is blocked. DO NOT BUY THIS BRAND -THEY DO NOT WORK. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY.

Fits perfect
The filters are larger than I expected but fit perfectly. Exactly like OEM at 1/2 the cost.
