Bright, Easy to Set Up, and a Solid Smart Bulb for the Price
The Tapo L530E Smart Bulb is a good all-round smart bulb that is quick to set up and easy to use. Installation was straightforward, brightness is strong, and it works well for both everyday lighting and coloured scenes. It is a simple product to get running without much effort, which makes it a good option for anyone wanting smart lighting without a complicated setup process. The bulb itself has a fairly standard build quality for this category, but it feels perfectly acceptable in normal use. Performance is good, and it does what you would expect from a multicolour smart bulb at this price point. Integration with Home Assistant is also a plus, adding a bit more flexibility for users with an existing smart home setup. The main limitation is that it does not support Matter or Zigbee, so that may matter if you are specifically looking for broader cross-platform standards or local protocol options. That said, it is not locked entirely into the TP-Link ecosystem, so for many users this will not be a dealbreaker. Overall, this is a dependable, easy-to-use smart bulb with good brightness and decent value for money, especially if Matter or Zigbee support is not essential for your setup.

Great for babies in the house. I bought this so we’d be able to have a softer light in the room rather than the overhead main. This worked out perfectly. The light quality is lovely and there haven’t been any issues using it despite me having it on practically all of the day and night. With a newborn we didn’t want a light to disturb him when i’m doing nappy changes. The red colour works out and we can dim the brightness if necessary. I bought it mainly because of the compatibility with Alexa. I was able to connect it and set it up with Alexa in seconds. No issue in her finding it at all. When I call on Alexa to change the colours, brightness, etc that all works really easily as well. You can refer to it as ‘light’ or as the name you’ve given it. The app itself is really easy to navigate and when I want to be more specific with its functions it’s easy to set. I would also recommend once you choose Tapo or any other smart brand that you stick with it or else you’ll have multiple apps that need downloading. For me, i’ll be sticking with Tapo. They seem to have a range of different gadgets.

Good cheap RGB light
Not much to say, it does what it says it does. It is very easy to setup and use. You can set the light to any colour and brightness. You can also set a schedule to set the light at particular times of day which can be useful. There are some themes you can pick which cycle through colours and such. Make sure there is 2.4ghz wifi available near the bulb otherwise it wont work. Some pros and cons include: Pros: - Works well - Easy setup - Easy use - Looks nice and it very useful as you can turn the light on and off without the light switch - Energy efficient as expected for an LED Cons: - The app is a little slow so it takes a few seconds to launch the app and then select your light bulb and then turn it on, but nothing offensive, maybe 5 seconds in total? - Needs 2.4ghz wifi Overall, good option for anyone looking for a smart light bulb, especially great if you catch it on sale. Make sure to select the correct fitting (screw or springy poles, I don't know the name).

Super easy set up
Great bulb, really easy to set up with the Tapo / TP-Link app just popped it in the lamp, turned the lamp on opened the app and the bulb went Hey, nice to meet you....can I have the wifi password please bro? and that was it. It does need 2.4ghz wifi to connect BUT your phone does not need to be on the 2.4ghz band like some other brand bulbs do so that's a no faff easy set up. You can then change brightness, set colours or mood lighting using the Tapo app or using your voice. I've not had any issues with flickering or flaky connectivity like I have done with some of the Phillips Wiz ones I have had in the past

Love
The lamp is very easy to install and set up. You can connect it to either the app or Alexa, like I have. I love the colours and the different modes—and not having to get up to turn the light on and off LOL (lazy, I know). The only downside is that it doesn’t seem to have a flashing mode with more than two colours (unless I just haven’t found it), so you can’t fully party hard :( Overall, it’s great value for money. The packaging is good, the instructions are easy to understand, and the installation is simple.

Great bulb easy to set up
Easy to set up Download the app first before start the process Once it’s connected to the Tapo app - alexa can pick it up and control it The bulb was a decent price and the colour way is outstanding Alexa is able to set a timer for it and brighten and dim it as you see fit I have used the tapo app to explore the colours available however it’s main purpose is for Alexa to run it by voice commands

Rarely, they turn on by themselves.
I would've left a 5 stars review, they're simple to use, cheap and don't require bridges. And they have a better color range and comparable brightness to the Philips ones for a fraction of the cost. But... One of them turned on at 5am by itself, waking me up. It's not a one time thing because another one did the same thing but in the living toom, so I had a reasonable doubt that maybe I had forgotten to turn it off before going to bed, but now it's clear that this is a thing they do. This has happened only once in 2 months, but that's already one too many times for a glitch like this. That's basically the most devastating failure a product in this category can have, other than setting your house on fire, that is.
