Tuf-Tite EF-4 Residential Series Effluent Filter (Filter Only), Yellow

Some people said the half-ring flange at the bottom made installation impossible. Other people said it's important for the function and to not cut it off. So I used one blade of my scissors to cut it into 1/2" segments and gently bent it upward. It was a very snug fit in the pipe but went right in. It will be interesting in a few months to pull it out and see how much debris it caught, and it will be a good gauge of how often I'll need to clean it. I hear 1 year is standard, but I'll check a lot sooner to see how things are going.

I replace my filter every time I have my septic pumped. This one works great and I no longer have to worry about a clogged filter backing the septic up into the house.

These filters are excellent for their purpose and appear to be an industry standard. Lightweight and sturdy, we use them in our 110 home adult community. Given what they do, they are an excellent value and design, keeping the effluent out of the septic drain field. They are easy to install and remove, just sliding down into the output baffle tube. They are also very economical compared to other filter designs. I'd buy more if and when needed...good to have a spare in the shed!

Another seller who bought one of these and attached it to a 1/2” PVC pipe and tee handle really inspired me. Thank you, man 👍🏼👍🏼!! Recently, I had to dig 5 feet down to get to my outlet baffle for testing, maintenance, and inspection. So I decided to put a riser on it for easy access. But now I can’t just simply pull mine out. I would have to call Dr. Dhalsim from Street Fighter II 😂. “Yoga Baffle” Other than constructing the handle, the only mod I did was shaving off a little bit of the lower pressure lip with my cut off wheel to avoid struggle with my handle being so long. Thank the lord, it goes in nice😎 👍🏼. I will update later after seeing how it performs. I will be performing periodic checks on it . As of now, I’m very impressed with the product and thanks again to the guy for posting the review with the picture with the PVC handles. It really did inspire and reassure me!

If your septic system is equipped to receive a strainer this is a direct replacement. Easy to swap out, easy to clean and works well. The price is affordable. I’ve seen these sold for twice the price thru septic companies. The strainer keeps your drainage field pump clean and longer lasting.

My local septic pumping company pointed out that I was missing this filter - I suspect it was removed a couple of years ago when my tanks were last pumped out. Anyway - the septic company wanted $100 to install it. I declined it as I thought that was quite expensive for a big piece of plastic. Since they were leaving the holes open so I could put in risers I just found this product and ordered it. When it arrived - I simply removed the lid and installed it. I did find that it didn't want to "push down" into place. It kept getting stuck. So I twisted it back and forth as I pushed it down and it went in without a problem!
