Simplicity meets consistency
Simple, easy to install and works awesome. Throwing all my trigger shifters away... consistent and fast shifting.

Work Great with Wide Compatibility
I've used similar friction shifters (Falcon) on other bikes and already knew I liked them, so there were no surprises with this set for me.I like these shifters because they are super cheap compared to other options like trigger or grip shifters. They're dead easy to install and maintain because you don't have to worry about indexing. You can make adjustment on the fly by tightening or loosening the screw that presses down to generate the friction. They are really easy to use, you just push till the derailleur changes gears and like all friction shifters they allow micro adjustment at the lever to "trim" shifts. The have a clicking sound to assist in knowing how much to move the shifter for each shift.Since they just pull as much cable as you make them they work with wide range of derailleurs without issue. I used them on a trip along the Great Allegheny Passage from Pittsburgh PA to Cumberland MD. They worked great and shifted perfectly the entire time. I used them with a Shimano Alivio front 3 speed mech and a MicroSHIFT Marvo LT 9 speed rear mech. The open clamp on these shifters would allow them to be installed almost anywhere, like inside of the loop on a Jones Loop bar. I have them installed on trekking bars.I don't like the bulky rubber covers, I think they make the shifters look cheap. They are removable but they are pretty uncomfortable without the covers. These are FRICTION ONLY, not indexed. This could be a con for some that don't realize that these don't work the same as shifters that normally come on bikes were one click drops one gear.Shifters came with cables and housing. I was able to switch from my downtime shifters to these in less than an hour and with only the cable and housing included (reusing the housing on my chainstay). The only issues I have is that they rub on my Tektro Eclipse MT 2.1 MTB Universal Brake Levers. The lever has a thick mount and I’m not concerned about it but it’s leaving a slight mark in the lever mount. It may not be an issue for other levers…

Works for my 8-speed cassette
It spans all 8 speeds!! I have a single chainring and a shimano 8-speed cassette and with one of these bad boys my sunrace R80 derailleur can smoothly shift through all 8 gears. I’ve always had indexing issues so it’s nice to finally have reliable access to all of my gears 😂 Removed 1 star because the housing seems flimsy and I expect I’ll replace it with a cool vintage suntour shifter or something in the future, but nevertheless a great affordable way to try out friction shifting!

Works great with minimal fuss
I've installed two sets of these and been very pleased both times. They are good quality, mostly metal, and they are relatively easy to install. The biggest benefit is how easy they are to adjust. With just minor tweaks, these will shift from your highest to your lowest gear, without coming off and getting the chain stuck in between the gearset and the bicycle frame. They are easy to use and intuitive. I can see how professional cycling racers would need precisely-adjusted index shifters, but for the rest of us this is an easily installed, troublefree alternative that works great for the do it yourselfer. I only wish I could have all the time back that I used to spend trying to get index shifters adjusted just right, before I found these!

Assemble and use with caution
I used these on a vintage 10-speed to move the friction shifters from the downtube to the drop bars. They appeared to able to be positioned so I could use them as "thumbies" but in adjusting the derailleur the shifter broke. (I admit this may have been at least partially my fault because of my tendancy to over tension, over tighten, etc.)Interestingly, it broke at the base of the threaded metal boss and not the plastic. I decided to fix it by using a modified T-nut from the back, a bolt and a split lock washer. This combination makes it far sturdier and able to better hold appropriate tightness.I also hid the protruding portion of the attachment ring using friction tape as a cover. It looks pretty good with my black bar tape. All in all, not a bad product, but one to be used with some knowledge of its weak points.

New gear shifters
My son's wife got a new trike and the shifters were in bad shape. These new 7-gear shifters will make the trike like new again.

Great shifters for recumbent bicycles as well!
Just recieved these friction shifters yesterday and installed them on my EZ-1 super cruiser (recumbent bike). The old shifters on this bike were the shimano grip shifters and they had seen better days. Not a huge fan of grip shifters and didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for other shifters so I took a chance and ordered these.Installation was a breeze, just simply slipped the grip shifters off and installed the new friction shifters. Only slight issue I had is that the cable the friction shifters came with for the rear derailleur wasn't long enough. I was expecting this due to the recumbent bicycle being much long than your traditional bicycle. So it was extremely simple to just take the old rear derailleur cable and put it on the new friction shifter. The front derailleur cable fit with out any issues. The most amazing thing with these friction shifters is there is very little adjustment to do with your rear and front derailleur (as long as you have your High and Low settings good). At least for me, I literally set the shifters on, tightened everything down, and the bike shifted FLAWLESSLY, I was stunned. I've never had a near perfect shifting bicycle before and I believe that the friction shifter takes all that credit because the old index shifting was more off than the seasons here in Florida!Overall, I am sold with these friction shifters, yes I still have the "rapid fire" shifters on my full suspension 29er and they are awesome but for the price of these shifters and what I needed them for I couldn't be happier. If I could rate these any higher I would. Look no further if you want easy to install, simple, and inexpensive shifters.
